Coal Mining Equipment at Work: Featuring the World Famous Mines and Mining Companies of Western Kentucky

Growing up in Western Kentucky I am so glad that someone took the time to put this book together. The preservation of the hardworking miners and the machines that provided the resources to power America.

Only drawback is it features only the regions Surface mines so the underground mines are not even mentioned with there assortment of Machines. Since most of the "strip mines" are closed most pictures are of idled equipment or historic views, particularly of the Drag lines and large scoops.

Just what I expected. Very nice and has a lot of pictures and history of the area where I was born.

This book is a must for all fans of old iron. Lots of unseen photo's with accurate text. Geared towards walking draglines and stripping shovels. I highly reccomend this book
