CLASSIC Olive Pitter by Westmark Germany

I bought this olive pitter over a month ago and have pitted over 10 pounds of olives with it so far. Once I got used to how the device operates I found it to be very efficient and durable. With careful use I expect this device to last a long time. It appears to be very well engineered. A couple of things to note, the olive has to be in its little seat just right, and it also needs to be oriented with its pointy end toward the plunger for best results.

It worked well for as long as it worked. Great idea but very poor metallurgical engineering. After pitting about 5 lbs of olives the pitting plunger severed from the pitting arm. I intend to return the broken unit. The item may have been German engineered but it behaved like it was manufactured in China. The reason for the 2 stars is that both Amazon and the merchant were reliable, else I would have given them 1 star.

This olive pitter will pit green Sicilian olives with ease and cherries also. It is very solid and easy to use [ the spring returns it to the open position]. A must for Pasta Ala Putanesca fanciers.

Works great, with only a small waste of real olive meat.... Good quality....

Petit ustensile bien pratique pour dénoyauter des olives. Il est léger, pourvu de branches antidérapantes, ce qui assure une bonne prise en main, avec une tige poussoir munie d'un ressort qui fonctionne sans demander trop de pression. Fabriqué en fonte aluminium et revêtement spécial pour aliments. Il se nettoie facilement. Il faut poser les olives à dénoyauter à la verticale, pour permettre le noyau de glisser dans la fente. Je l'ai employé une seule fois, avec des olives de taille moyenne avec un résultat probant. Il n'a pas de bouclier anti éclaboussures, comme d'autres modèles, et si besoin, j'enlève les noyaux dans un sachet de congélation. Un accessoire très utile depuis que j'ai découvert la tapenade fait maison... Et il ne va pas chômer.

Ricevuto oggi, in anticipo sui tempi promessi. L'ho provato su una decina di olive e funziona egregiamente; certamente con qualche cautela in quanto non sembra un campione in robustezza. Credo che per un uso casalingo sia efficiente. Mi riservo la quinta stella quando l'avrò provato più a lungo. Grazie

Un dénoyauteur à olive ne devrait pas être un outil extraordinaire, pourtant, tous ne marchent pas forcément bien. Celui-ci nous permet de retirer les noyaux sans effort, et surtout, sans abimer l'olive. En une minute on dénoyaute une poignée d'olives pour l'apéro ou les pizza, que demander de plus ?

All in all it does pit olives adequately. I t struggles with larger olives but otherwise makes no claims above its adequate value.
