Think you know which came first – the invention of mayonnaise or decaffeinated coffee? Lincoln’s Gettysburg address or John Deere’s first plow? Test your knowledge with Chronology by Buffalo Games – the game of all time! In Chronology, each player builds his or her own timeline of cards. On your turn, someone will read you a historical event from a card. You decide where that event falls in your timeline. If you are right, you keep the card and your timeline grows. The first player to build a timeline of 10 cards wins! Recommended for 2 to 8 players, ages 14+. Contents include 429 double-sided cards with 858 events.

Review: Enjoyable - This is a great game and was as expected. It is a good family night game but not a long strategy game and super easy to play so its accessible and does not require an all night commitment if that is an issue. I was worried my young adult son wouldnt like it or not do well but he liked it and won one game. The idea is very simple, you are given an event in history but that might be cultural too like what year did salsa become the biggest selling condiment or when was bubble wrap invented, and you dont have to really know the exact year but where it falls on your timeline which is always changing. This works then for younger people who will not know when JR got shot lol but often you have a sense of when something was and can guess the range although also you can be laughably 100 years off and so it does spark laughter and conversations about history too. I guess at some point you go through all the cards but honestly no one is going to remember all the dates and its really your random timeline that makes some more difficult than others so I dont see an issue reusing them. this will be a regular in our rotation.

**Q: When was this made and what year is the most recent event in this game?**
A: The game was made in 1996, and I would guess the most recent event to be as recent as 1994, but it may not be as recent as the 90s

**Q: What is the time span of history in chronology?**
A: So far the span of history cards have ranged from like 38ad to present. Have not completed all of the cards yet though.

**Q: Are the cards at all inappropriate for elementary aged children?**
A: None of the cards are inappropriate. This is a good family game, however a knowledge of history would be helpful when playing. Younger kids could get frustrated simply because they have not yet had the education.
