Product Description Master of guitaristry, Jake Fleder, in his first solo project, "New Frontier", has created an evocative and stunning composition that truly reflects his musical transcendency. Jake traverses the barriers of genre and provides an awesome mingling of jazz, rock and r&b that provokes a hedonic, zestful listening experience. "My goals for this album were to create a group of songs that express my artistic vision in a highly accessible manner," says Fleder. "I wanted to build a sonic tapestry that would weave a spell and take the listener to somewhere distant, yet familiar." The album is pleasing to anyone with an eclectic taste in music. In collaboration with an impressive cast of musicians, Jake succeeds brilliantly at sending a message of hope and understanding to a world in distress. New Frontier reflects the technological evolution of our time and glamourously projects the future to come. It makes life better, inspires mankind and strikes a universal cord. About the Artist There's a musical renaissance going on in the world. One by one, listeners are turning away from the often childish rubbish belched out by cynical entertainment company cookie cutting machines. Passionate listeners are falling away from the floundering pop mainstream, with which they can no longer identify. They're seeking melodies, infectious rhythms, and passionate lyrical thought of real artists whose life's experience is love of craft, soul, and reality. People need it more now than ever. Jake is one of those artists. Jake Fleder's life is an intensely personal and universal musical journey at once. Spiritually, his mind goes where a devoted composer's mind goes. It always returns to what people need. Jake's been a big-league musician since he learned how to play. His list of musical accomplishments is better than impressive: it's the record of what the determined artist does. His story spans from classical discipline in childhood to steady gigs at the venerated (and very tough) Apollo Theater in Harlem, to producing pop acts for major labels and touring with major groups in genres from popping funk to thrashing metal. Jake recorded for Columbia and Atlantic and Elektra and Mercury records. That sentence takes us just a bit past his teenhood. Guitar legend Bo Diddley once said "Jake's the best guitarist I ever worked with." When Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker re-formed the power trio once called Cream, Jake got a call about replacing Eric Clapton. Jake was busy touring with his own act, opening for Mountain, Meat Loaf, Quiet Riot, and quite a few other hitmakers. Jake's guitaristry served to rocket the chart- busting group Maze into the public eye, blending Hendrix-stylizations with hypnotic funk rythms. Jake Fleder has earned high respect in the glitter and noise of the music industry, yet has always insisted on pursuing his deepest artistic visions, even at the sacrifice of potential millions in "commercial" sales. But authentic artists have to do what their visions direct them to do. Jake composes and creates because he has to. He has to perform what creative vision tells him listeners need.
