Worked great in a raw recipe, great classic flavor
I've used a few different brands of vanilla bean in the 25 years making raw gourmet food which includes deserts. I have owned a longevity center facility and have helped transition hundreds of people, and as we all know, old habits die hard and the hardest one is to "un-rape" the defiled and de-sensitized taste buds. So, to make long "pleasure trap" story short, taste is the key here. These vanilla beans were shipped to me in an individually sealed vacuum plastic container that retained freshness. They were not stiff but flexible and even had the proper softness to them, as well as the actual vanilla scent and flavor–not some "perfumed" enhancement like some others I tried. They were easy to cut and add to blended or food-processor deserts and toppings, etc.I would certainly buy this particular brand from this company again.

Excellent quality vanilla beans, especially at the price
Good vanilla at something close to a reasonable price has been nearly impossible to find. I was delighted to receive large, plump beans, rich in flavor and seeds, slightly light on the usual yellow oil, but a delight in these days of obscene food prices. I admit to being a sweet-tooth - the beans will flavor vanilla sugar, keeping me with a rich supply of the Real Thing for a couple of years. (Split half the beans length-wise and scrape seeds from the interior and mix with 1-3 lbs. white cane/beet sugar. Slice the pods into small pieces - when they eventually dry out, crush them back into the mix. You can store extra beans in the tightly-sealed container (all glass/silicon seal the best) though they will dry out a bit as the oil in the pod leaches into the surrounding sugar. Shake regularly. Replenish regularly. Split and mash remaining beans as needed. They last a long time.My only gripe: The beans were packed in what smelled and felt like well-polymerized food-grade vinyl - a safe product, just not recyclable in any way. And most trash generated locally is incinerated before burial - Vinyl plastic (assuming that's what it was) is 100% safe for food packaging, but its combustion products are not. I would gladly pay $1-2 more a package for a simple, well-sealed glass tube, stoppered with high-density polyethylene foam or threaded for an HDPE cap. Recyclable-seal glass packaging would make better storage containers if you're not going to use all your beans at once (and it's a LOT of vanilla, 2 maybe 3 beans should flavor a half-gallon of really superb, richly flavored Hagan Das texture ice cream). leaving the user with either a container for any similarly shaped product, or two easily recycled pieces of waste, rather than toxic-when-burned garbage. shipped in recycled-material corrugated board, recycle the box.

Great for ice cream
This seems to have a little different smell than another vanilla bean I've used but it's really good. The beans were super fresh, not dried out in the least bit, and smelled great. I added them to a mead and didn't get too much out of them in terms of flavor, however I did make a French Vanilla ice cream and used three of these pods and the flavor was fantastic. Pure, natural vanilla and everyone loved it.

delayed review
LOL! ordered these to make our family "homemade kahluah" so will not know about flavor until November! They smelled fantastic and looked good and fresh. If so, will order several packages next January for sure.

INCREDIBLE for the price!!
These beans were excellent for the price you pay. All 3 were large and succulent, and had an amazing scent that was all over the Amazon package. I used them to make vanilla-infused honey, which tasted incredible, especially in yogurt or a London Fog. HIGHLY reccomend these beans.

Great bean but prefer Tahitian
These are high quality beans at a reasonable price. I've made several vanilla simply syrups for tiki drinks and the flavor is great. They have plenty of seeds to scrape out. Personally I've found I prefer Tahitian beans as they're a little plumper, and I can usually get by with one bean where these I sometimes use two as I prefer a stronger flavor profile. The cost comes out about the same if you're using 2:1, but it's less work, and the taste of Tahitian is a little better for how I use them. They come in a vacuum packed bag, which is re-sealable, but I recommend switching them to glass tubes for longer term storage.

Aromatic beans!
The media could not be loaded. I just made my vanilla extract last night and I’m really happy with the vanilla beans! They smell so good. The only thing that I was unhappy about was I made 2 separate orders and the 2nd Order wasn’t as fresh as my 1st. The vanilla beans that are on the right side where mushed and looked a bit more dry. I’m not sure if it was a delivery isssue but other wise I’m content!
