- Some of the photos may show knots, but we've cut around the knots so you get clear boards. If you prefer boards with knots (because you like the rustic look), just let us know.

We sell these as single boards, or in packs of 3, 6, or 12. Several widths to pick from, too.

Aspen is a great wood to use for so many projects. It is classified as a hardwood, yet its very easy to cut and drill. It is a white colored wood, and is a dream to sand, if you want to buff out a scratch mark. Ours comes pre-sanded on both sides, and is ready to use.

We get this Aspen from the Kurtz Amish Family of upper Wisconsin. The Kurtz family has 4 children, and they all work together, helping the family with chores in the garden, around the house, in the barn, and at the sawmill. The key to premium wood, is in the drying. Wood is very wet from a fresh cut tree, but the Kurtz father, Jonas, runs the family kiln, which drys their lumber slowly, using wood heat...not gas or electric heat like other kilns. Jonas learned how to dry wood carefully, from his father, and that tradition has been carried down for generations. Properly dried wood keeps it beautiful texture, color, and makes it a joy to work with. You can smile at night, when your head hits the pillow, knowing that your purchase helped put food on an Amish families table. Support the USA!
