Good Value
We enjoy listening to J.D. Robbs Eve Dallas series. The audio books we've bought in the past usually have numerous CDs per each book. But not this product, just one disk per book because they are in MP3 format. In order to listen to them in the car's CD player, I had to copy them to CDs. Each MP3 disk required about 11 or 12 CDs. But it was well worth the trouble. Audio books of this length are usually expensive, and even having to copy them to CDs it is a good deal.

A wonderful romp
Once again Eve Dallas has to find a killer but one who kills by making his victims do it to themselves.

Earlier novels in the series were better
I've bought all of the books in the series more out of curiosity of how the characters will develop. However, the writing had been steadily going downhill. The earlier books were so good that my sister and I couldn't put the books down. The dialogue was witty, characters were alive and the plot flowed naturally. If Nora Roberts wrote the earlier novels and is now using ghost writers, she should take over again.

How can you go wrong?
One reviewer complained that there are no surprises here. That's exactly why I keep coming back to the In Death books. Its a place to hang out with familiar friends - Dallas, Roarke, Peabody, and all the rest. The writing is clever and sometimes even laugh out loud funny. Add to that a mystery, a fair amount of geek-speak, some futuristic gadgets, an d little bit of sex. How can you go wrong? My only complaint is that it was over too soon!

Meddeningly brilliant as always.
If your an Eve Dallas junkie this is as good as she gets. Taking down a nutcase with her band of sidekicks beside her. Great to see McNab getting a little more time and even riding in on the rescue.

Love J.D. Robb to death!
Love J.D. Robb (Nora Roberts) to death! Love all the characters and the dynamics between them! I love kick-ass women who can take charge.

Another fab read!!
I absolutely adore this series set in the future. Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her husband Roarke are fabulous. I love the pairing. This book was a short novella which followed Eve as she investigated the alleged murder/suicide of a wealthy young woman and her brother. It looked to be a straightforward open and shut case but when close friends who knew the siblings are adamant that whatever happened doesn't make sense at all and thus Eve investigates and finds something else. The book centres on hypnotism and the concept of suggestion. It was an intriguing book which potentially could have been longer and more interesting. There were paths that the story could have taken which wasn't attempted. A full length novel had so many possibilities. As it was a short novella the investigation was wrapped up quite quickly.I missed the presence of Summerset whose witty banter with Eve is very funny. Louise and Charles had more of a presence in this book than they usually do.I give 5 stars as I always love the in death books and always impatiently wait for the next book in the series.Never want the series to end.Eve and Roarke forever!!!!

It's a shorty!!
It only gets 4 stars because it was a a short story. It was an Eve Dallas for goodness sake!!!!! We know from a past book that Eve is very sceptical about psychics so it's no surprise here that when she's led into this world again she is immediately looking for the con artists. Louise & Charles are involved from the beginning as they know the murdered couple ( brother & sister). For a short story ,the regulars are there however briefly. And along the way Eve does meet a psychic who ALMOST convinces her that there is something beyond. But Eve & Peabody & Eve do get their man in the end. Did we ever doubt it? Was there a feeling of it all being a bit crammed in in places? Sometimes, but I was caught up in the chase. I will reread it again in a few months as I always do & see how I feel then.

Light Entertainment
Fun short story for Dallas fans. The actual crime is quite sad - I never like when vulnerable characters are exploited. But the main villains of the piece are more tragically humorous than evil when the story reaches the climax.

A children's horror story
I suppose after so many excellent predecessors that ideas could dry up and result in a turkey. Really disappointed by this diversion into the ridiculous. Surprised the gorgeous Roarke didn't find an excuse to go off-planet and avoid the whole thing.
