Passed HSK 2 exam using this book and a pack of Flash Cards. example tests are very similar to what was experienced.

This book is listed as having cd’s and has a sticker on the book saying cd included. No cd. Listening portion of tests are now impossible. Maybe they should supply us with an online link to the audio files.

This really is an excellent book for preparing for the HSK, but it did not include disks. The audio component of the book and the test is huge and this books value is drastically reduced by not including disks.

Bought the series of these books. Very helpful.

This book came out just before the most recent revision of the HSK vocabulary list, when the test was “dumbed down” to make it less demanding. Using it to study for the current level 2 HSK will over-prepare you because it contains a lot of words/characters that will not be on the test that you take. The upside is that the real test will seem much easier to you than what you practiced for. The downside is that while preparing, you’ll spend a lot of time looking up characters that you don’t actually need to know for the test. Some of them are very useful words (like “bank”) and others are a little less useful these days (like “post office”). I wish the publisher would revise this book because apart from the vocabulary content no longer being accurate, the practice tests mimic the real test very closely, and the audio tracks are very professionally produced.

There were no discs included in the package. Im very disappointed.
