The solutions to each of the test questions were more often than not difficult to follow and difficult to comprehend. In some cases the solutions appeared incomplete.

I bought this book as part of my preparation for the P exam. The problem sets would have been excellent practise material, except for the fact that the solutions provided in the book are sometimes not for the problem given in the practise set. Additionally, problem sets are cumulative, however this just causes the problem sets at the end of the book to become more and more diluted in the material taught by the chapter. Don't waste your money on this, Dr. Ostazewski's material is far, far better.

The explanations are helpful, and there are tons of great practice problems. The typos and punctuation errors throughout the workbook make me question whether or not it was proofread before publishing, and I ended up buying a more expensive, more professional study guide because the lack of proofreading made me doubt the accuracy of some answers/explanations in this workbook.

This manual was good only for taking notes. Many of the practice problems were incorrect, which was extremely frustrating. I would not purchase again.

To be fair, the guide is fairly cheap, so it's unrealistic to expect something comparable to the ACTEX manual. However, the quality of the book is still poor, even for a $30 book. Many of the solutions are incorrect and many questions are unclear. The solutions that are correct give very little explanation, so it is practically useless. I would recommend spending the extra money to purchase a different study guide.

This is a very thorough guide covering all that you need to know for the exam. There are a couple of mistakes in the guide which makes me think that the author didn't have a good editor, but the thoroughness of the material is good.One thing to note - this guide will NOT teach you probability. You need to have had some exposure to it or you will be completely lost. I studied probability quite a number of years ago and I'm now making a career shift into the actuarial field. This was a good review for me as it brought all of my probability knowledge back up to snuff and really prepared me (maybe over-prepared me) for the first test.

It's really fast, needed a more in-depth textbook to self-study.
