Unfortunately I could not get ARC to work on this ...
Unfortunately I could not get ARC to work on this device when plugged in via 3.5m aux cable. Also it didn't appear that volume controls worked when it was set to ARC mode. Otherwise this product seemed solid. But I'll be returning it because it doesn't work for my speakers.

Chromecast input with monitor output and 3.5mm speaker out don't work
I bought this product so that I can split the audio and video from my chromecast. I connected the hdmi out to my monitor, the 3.5 mm audio out to my speakers and plugged in a chromecast as the hdmi input . Tried all settings and it didn't send the audio to my speakers , but the video worked fine . I then tried unplugging the monitor from the hdmi out and kept the speakers alone plugged in, and that setup worked . Gonna return the product cuz it seems like it's built for a different purpose.

Works perfectly for the PS4 Slim!!!
I was disappointed to see that the PS4 slim didn't come with an optical port or any sort of IO for external speaker connection. I looked around and decided to go with this guy so I could connect my optical cable from my sound bar. It works perfectly! Great quality sound through the sound bar and surround sound speakers while delivering HD content to my TV.If you are buying this for the slim, be sure to change the sound settings on the PlayStation to 'dolby'

I do recommend this to others who need solid sound and flexibility
So far this unit has worked exceptionally well. I have only used it a few times, to be fair, but it has worked perfectly and as designed. It is exactly what I needed to get quality sound to my amp from the Amazon Fire TV box. I do recommend this to others who need solid sound and flexibility.

Does not work with PS4 slim.
Bought this audio extractor for PS4 Slim and it does not work for video pass though. Audio works but not video. I was told that Sony has a video card software as if it cannot connect straight to a video source it will not send video signal. So using a HDMI switch it will see interference and stop the video signal.

I haven't had any issues like other reviewers. I have a Amazon fire stick plugged into it and use the HDMI to push video to a monitor and the audio to a small powered speaker via 3.5mm jack. Does the trick for my use case.
