Cable Matters Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, Mini DP to HDMI, Black

I bought this Mini Displayport to HDMI since I have a 2014 Macbook Air that I wanted to connect to the new screen that I recently bought. I didn't want the hassle of constantly unplugging a different HDMI cable from the monitor so I decided to get an adapter so I can just connect to that one HDMI cable. I have a PC for work and a Mac for home use so this works out pretty well. User Friendly/Design: The design is pretty simple and not too bulky. The part where it says "Cable Matters" appears to be plastic which is fine but doesn't seem to be the best quality. Not a big concern though. The adapter isn't too long so it doesn't take up too much space. You just plug in an existing HDMI cable into one end and plug in the Mini DP part into the Macbook Air. It is basically fool proof. Material: The wire itself for the adapter appears to be slightly thinner than most of the HDMI cables that I have bought. I like this because of the ability to stow away more easily. The plugs are gold plated which supposedly makes connection better. I haven't seen any difference since it has been working the way it should be. Only time will tell whether or not this adapter will hold up. This adapter is affordable, convenient, and easy to use. I would recommend this to anyone who is in the market as it is also easy to store away.

I bought this product back in 2017 and I still use it today!! Since my Surface Pro 3 laptop doesn't have an HDMI cable slot on the side, I used this adapter to connect the HDMI cable to my laptop to my television- for study group sessions and it worked great! I'm very satisfied with the quality of it, especially since it's marked at a great price. As I mentioned before, I purchased this product in 2017 and it still works great to this day. The pictures I posted along with the review demonstrate how I use the adapter and it also shows an estimate of the size of it. Pros: -adapter is made of good quality, or at least that's what I think since it has worked very well since I purchased it 2 years ago - it's not bulky, at all and it's easy to carry in the laptop bag anywhere I go - adapts with any HDMI cable - great price - arrived fast Cons: -I truly don't have any issues/cons with this product.

This product works great for when you need that special adapter plug and it comes in handy computers I use to see on a second monitor.

I used it for the first time and it broke. The female end in the adapter was too small for the HDMI male end. I had to force the HDMI cable into the adapter. When I removed the HDMI cable from the adapter, the female end came out of the adapter along with the HDMI male end. You get what you pay for. Update to my review above: What I thought was the female end that was pulled out of the mini display port adapter was actually the male end out of the HDMI cable. I figured it out a couple of weeks later when I tried to use the HDMI cable again. Since then, I've used the adapter several times with my Microsoft Surface Pro 2 and a different HDMI cable and it has worked fine. I've also used it with my Apple MacBook Pro with no issues. The only disappointing this is that it doesn't play audio with the Mac, only video. Cudos to Cable Matters. They contacted me the first business day after my original 1 star review. After sending them pictures of what happened, they promptly sent me a replacement for what I thought was a defective product, but it turns out it wasn't.

I love this thing. It WORKS GREAT! I have never had any issue with it since I received it (April 2014 ). I use it every time I travel to stream all kinds of media content, including Netflix, Amazon Prime, UltraViolet movies, etc. I have connected and reconnected it A LOT. I use it in hotel rooms, so when I leave the room, I unplug it from my Surface Pro 2 so I can put it away, then when I come back, pull out my Surface Pro 2 and plug it back in. I probably connect / disconnect a lot more than your average user. You cannot beat it for the price, very good quality as far as I am concerned. I have 24+ years working with computers and cables. I have seen cheap cables, this is not one!

Solved a problem

After receiving a defected product and writing a negative review i was instantly approcahed by the amazing and helpful customer service of cable matter they explained to me that i have a defected cable and they will send me a new one free of charge i was amazed by how good there customer service was and i was happy when i revieced my cable because it was top notch it was very stale and working perfectly. bottomline: if you need an hdmi link get it from them god forbid you get a bad one theyll probably send you a new one and if you get a good one then youre very luck because youll have one of the best cables around.

I use this adapter on my early 2014 MacBook Air with the thunderbolt 2/mini display port. The HDMI I have connected to it leads to my TV so I can use my TV and MacBook displays simultaneously. There is literally no lag and the picture is crystal clear. This adapter is scary impressive.

Crystal clear sound and picture -- much better than the old-school VGA that never seems to die. Also, unlike the majority of VGA connectors I've had, there are no pin issues that give sketchy pictures or bizarre colors as it wear out. Good product. I've used it over 100 times now and still works perfectly. Recommended.

Purchased this adapter for Lenovo T430S and it works flawlessly for both outputs: video and sound. Also, the adapter looks very sturdy and clean. Product in fact looks slightly nicer than the photo. It does not have the 'cheap material' look, which is always a plus. A very good product for a good price. If I need another adapter to convert from Mini DisplayPort to HDMI, I will purchase this again.

J'avais besoin de ce cable pour relier mon macbook air en HDMI à ma télé. Et oui le macbook air n'a pas de sortie HDMI, et le cable vendu par apple est autour de 50€ donc prix imbattable. Fonctionne très bien, après dans le temps je ne sais pas mais je l'utilise seulement une a deux fois par mois donc me convient très bien.
