Retap Borosilicate Glass Water Bottle, 17-Ounce

I purchased this bottle to use for transporting cold liquids. The size of the bottle is great (doesn't take up too much space and it is light-weight) and the design of the lid (rubber material that does not spin off like a regular cap, but you have to pry it off instead) ensure that the contents of the bottle do not leak. On the flip-side, the only negative is that the glass is very thin and I fear that it will shatter to pieces when dropped. Otherwise, it is a good bottle and I recommend this product

lovely in all ways except that the glass is very thin - what will I do when this breaks on the street or on the trail.UPDATE: actually it broke in the sink while I was doing dishes. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.

I bought this to use in the bathroom. I didn't want an open cup or a plastic bottle, and this was both classy looking and an appropriate size. The opening is neither too big nor too small. I can open it one handed and in the dark. I only ever put water in it, so it's easily cleaned by filling with hot soapy water, putting in the cap back on, holding it with my hands flat against the top and bottom, and shaking vigorously. (I haven't tried it in the dishwasher, so I don't know if I would have the same problem with thermal shock that other reviewers have had.)I was worried about chipping either the bottle or the tile, and about the bottle slipping on the counter, so I bought a set of Food Huggers (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UZD03L8) and put the appropriately-sized purple one over the bottom of the bottle. Now it's no-skid, and it bounced when I accidentally dropped it. If you have similar worries, I strongly recommend this addition!

I've had this bottle for almost 3 months now. Best decision to purchase! The glass prevents the water from tasting funny, unlike plastic and stainless steel bottles. I get compliments on my bottle every week. It's a simple yet unique design. The bottle does feel a bit fragile, but i haven't had any issues with chipping or cracking. I work in an office environment and keep it at my desk, so I wouldn't recommend it for hiking or adventurous activities.The lid stays put when snapped back on, and is pretty easy to remove. If the bottle is empty and dry, the cap takes a little elbow grease. Once filled with water, it is quite easy to pop off (but wont come loose on it's own, even if you shake it upside down). I got the 17 ounce and I love it.

I love this so much. Stays cleaner than plastic water bottles, and just feels nicer to drink out of. I worried because of some of the reviews I read, but have been using this for a few months now, and have not had any problems with the lid coming off, even when i toss it in my purse or backpack.

I got these glass bottles because I wanted to start drinking more water. I drink Poland Spring Water and used to buy a case of 30 20-oz bottles and bring 2 with me each day to work. I figured instead I would buy the 1 gallon bottles and just fill up the 2 glass bottles each day. I do this because I (one) I want to help the environment and cut down on the amount of plastic I use and (two) glass is much safer than plastic even if the plastic bottles are rated 1 and (possibly) BPA free.The glass bottle itself is great my PROBLEM WITH THESE BOTTLES IS THE CAP!!! The cap does NOT screw on instead you just push it on!!! Problem is the cap can pop off. MANY, MANY, MANY times I’ve had these in my backpack and the cap has come off. Also (I kid you not) with the bottles sitting on my desk at work I’ve had the cap LITERALLY just pop off into thin air. Not sure if has to do with the temperature or air pressure in the bottle but the cap will just literally pop off and up into the air. After much frustration I have to say these bottles ARE CRAP TOTAL GARBAGE!!! Glass bottle itself is nice BUT THE CAP SUCKSSS !!! Not acceptable!!! For this reason I do NOT recommend these bottles !!!

Absolutely LOVE this bottle. It is just the right size. Same oz's as a disposable bottle. For whatever reason I drink 16.9 oz bottles better than I do if I fill up a giant water bottle. I wanted something that was sustainable, safe, and reminiscent of a disposable bottle. This product is just that. Washes well in the dishwasher. I fill it up over and over again throughout the day. Just placed an order for the 10 oz bottle for my daughter. Hoping we can eliminate our plastic water bottle consumption altogether!

This item is as represented. It is easily cleaned, and things taste much better than with plastic bottles. There are two things to watch out for: (1) the cap is hard to remove and some of the contents can splash out at times, (2) be very careful how you hold the bottle, it is slippery and could slide out of your grip.

This is awesome. I've bought several glass water bottles in the last few months. This is the first one I love. It's easy to carry, nice to look at and well-sealed. The lid is pretty easy to get off. You have to slip your finger under the edge and pull up.It pretty comfy to use, and there is no weird smell from silicone. Fairly easy to clean.I also own Lifefactory, Zulu Atlas, Takeya and some generic plain glass bottles with silver caps.

I don't go anywhere without this little guy. Unlike my other glass water bottles the glass is thin (as I prefer my drinking cups to be) and doesn't have bully threading to screw the cap on to. It feels nice in your hand and seems to be fairly strong. I'm not the most graceful person so I've knocked it against things pretty hard a few times without any problems. I also notice that because I like the feel of this bottle so much I drink more water because it is really enjoyable.

I had broken the bottle and the company promptly replaced it with another one. So happy with a company that loves customers as much as they love going green. Thank you!

I bought the 17oz as an alternative to refillable plastic bottles/sippy cups. I dislike the feel and cleaning of plastic. Retap bottle not only has a great form, it's easy to clean, and it has a lip/opening edge that is smooth and pleasant to drink out of. I liked it so much I requested a second one as a Christmas gift. Now I can leave one at work and the other at home. Another great feature is the narrow opening prevents curious and thirsty pets from sticking their paws in it. I plan to get two more to have for guests bedside water.One thing to note is the cap seals best when the outside of bottle is completely dry.

These are super easy to use and wash in the dishwasher and a great size. I fill them with filtered water. I ordered different colored caps so everyone knows which bottle is hers/his.

Gorgeous design. I hate struggling with the cap. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's hard, sometimes it's noisy (rubber on glass squeaking), sometimes it comes off perfectly. I'm undecided if I would repurchase without a new cap design.

Great alternative to plastic bottles for most uses. We use them on our nightstands and this purchase was to provide to overnight guests. The top fits securely but I wouldn't use it where it might have to be bounced around. Others mentioned the top is hard to remove but I have not had that issue - I just twist it to loosen. Very easy to clean - hot tap water, a little soap, shake and rinse.
