I'm not the target audience so consider my review in that light.
I opted for this program in hope of restarting my exercise routine. Sadly I’m not ready for it. I’m going to have to ease into this, or abandon it. The reason this exercise is such an issue is two problems I have: damaged knees, so squatting and lunges are very limited and damage to my elbows (from using a pickax) so that push-ups are very challenging. If these are not issues for you, this exercise routine may not be a problem. The rest and recovery sessions are mostly rolling out your legs with the foam roller and stretching using the strap. No issue with those, but they are not the point of this set of DVDs. A yoga class would address this as well.BACKGROUND:I’m a 58 year old overweight woman, who has a sedentary job, though I do pilates, yoga, elliptical, line dancing and couples dancing every week. Outdoor hobbies are gardening, hiking and kayaking. Oh yes and babysitting grandkids, that’s the hardest work of all. So at home I am not sedentary, but far from a fit 20 year old and I do not do exercises everyday. I’m most likely not the target audience.EQUIPMENT:**** 1 (5 pound) yellow kettlebell. (4 sizes shown in video, yellow, red, orange, blue)**** foam roller**** stretching strap (could substitute a yoga strap if needed)Note: several exercises use 2 kettlebells and they use a round matt throughout. Rest and recovery rejuvenation uses a typical yoga mat (not included) and indicates taller people might use a longer foam rollerThere are also ads for equipment and supplements as well as a small meal plan booklet.DVDs provided:**** Introduction**** CARDIO: incinerate the fat**** CORE: ripped to the core**** RESISTANCE: force the energy**** Supercharged CORE: elevate your strength**** Supercharged LOWER BODY: experience the intensity**** Supercharged UPPER BODY: feel the burn**** MUSCLE PREVENTION & RECOVERY with Rejuvenation (I got 2 identical DVDs of this)You get a chart of recommended exercises for each of 56 days. Pace and duration is implied in each set of exercises. The 2nd set of exercises each day (supercharged) are 10 minutes longer for those that are motivated. Otherwise each day’s routine is 20 minutes long. 3 times a week, however there is a rest and rejuvenation routine.Example of first week:Day 1: Basic Resistance strike, Supercharged Core BurnDay 2: Rest and Recovery, RejuvenationDay 3: Basic Core Rock, Supercharged Lower Body BurnDay 4: Rest and Recovery, RejuvenationDay 5: Basic Cardio Ignite, Supercharged Upper Body BurnDay 6: Supercharged Core BurnDay 7: Rest and Recovery, RejuvenationThe type of exercises included for the Day 1 and Day 2:Day 1: Basic Resistance strike (issues with knees and elbows)**** Squat with upright row (tough on my knees)**** Lunge and overhead press (tough on my knees)**** Renegade row**** Offset push up (hard on elbows)**** Figure 8 with a bicep curl (easy to drop kettlebell)Day 1: Supercharged Core Burn (if you do pilates, can do this, but one balance move)**** Crunch with kettlebell to chest**** Twisting crunch with leg extension**** Floating half moon (balance)**** Bridge with kettlebell on pelvis**** Twist with a kettlebell punchDay 2: Rest and Recovery, Rejuvenation (music with this is not relaxing, but too loud & intense)Separated into equipment typesFoam roller:**** glute (butt)**** hamstring (back of leg)**** it band (outside of leg)**** quad (front of leg)Stretch strap: all of these are yoga derived**** hamstring (back of leg stretch)**** adductor (inside of leg stretch)**** abductor (outside of leg stretch)**** glute (butt stretch) really did not emphasize holding ankle straight, potential for knee damage**** quad (front of leg stretch)Overall, this strikes as an aggressive aerobic based workout, that might get results but also might make you ache. I tend to prefer pilates and yoga for the lack of ache, but I’ll not likely ever get a six pack that way. Pick your poison. For a busy young person this might be quite the routine as it is brief and doable at home. For me the potential for ache and even damage is too great.

A good basic though comprehensive program to build muscle tone and flexibility
This is a comprehensive program that provides a framework for establishing a fitness regimen, including both diet and exercise information and instruction. Kettle balls have been around for a long time but were largely neglected in favor or conventional barbells and dumbbells. Their resurgence is a owed to their ergonomic design and ease of use without causing undue stress especially on joints. The set includes dvd's for a variety of routines and fitness levels. It's ideal for a busy person who doesn't have the time to drive to a gym or simply prefers to exercise in the privacy of their own home. The set also includes a strap for stretching muscles especially during warmup and warm down and a styrofoam roller to massage muscles and back. The strap is adequate as is the roller although I found the roller to be extremely rudimentary and would suggest purchasing one that is more sturdy. All in all, this is s good basic program that will work up a sweat and improve flexibility and muscle tone if followed over time.

A Workout System That Tones For Fast Results
The KettleWorx Power Plus 8 Week Rapid Evolution Kit is a great way to get in shape. Honestly, I was too overweight and too out of shape to complete the first resistance workout. But I stopped, walked it off, caught my breath and jumped back in. The Core workout was a bit easier, and as I pushed through each day, the exercises became easier to complete, but still gave me a great workout. Each workout session is 20 minutes long and includes a warm-up and cool-down. There is a progress bar on the bottom of the screen for each exercise so you have an idea how much longer you’ll be performing that motion. The kit also comes with one KettleWorx Kettlebell Weight. But for the first day’s exercise, you need two kettlebells to execute one of the exercises. I’m glad I went out and bought a set of kettlebells while I was waiting for my workout package to arrive.

A great way for desk jockeys to get active again
A model of fitness I am not. It's one thing to not pay much attention to your physical fitness when you're young and active, but when you get older and work at a desk for a living the sedentary lifestyle can catch up with you fast.I also don't LIKE working out, so there is that. All of this is to put my like of this package in context. The KettleWorx Power Plus workout kit is a small, focused, but easy workout to incorporate into your life. The kit comes with a set of DVDs, a nutrition book and workout chart, a kettlebell weight (in my case 5lbs), a "self-massage" roller to help recover from workouts, a stretching strap, and a few other odds and ends. The workouts are quick and easy to add to your day, about 20 minutes each with a cooldown period. Each focuses on a different area, such as cardio or core. The program is designed so that you rotate through the differing types of workouts depending on which day it is, with rest days in between. The DVDs make it easy to stay focused, too, clearly indicating how long you have left with each particular exercise.Thankfully for me, the workouts are designed to get results but also to be approachable for someone who rarely exercises. Basically, if I can do this so can you!Yes, that means this is intended for beginners. If you've already been doing P90X or whatever else, you probably won't see any benefit from this. But if you're like me and need to get into the fitness routine, this is a great place to start.
