Known as the Yellow Jade Orchid Tree or Joy Perfume Tree, it is a large shrub or small tree, evergreen, and best known for its highly fragrant yellow flowers. This specimen is also valued for its timber and attractiveness to birds. The blossoms hues vary from cream to yellow and orange. The blossoms are used to make the famous "Joy" perfume. In India, the flowers are used for worship and as a hair adornment with natural perfume benefits. Although a tropical plant, once established it can tolerate a light freeze. A wonderfully, fragrant specimen which can provide shade in a small amount of time.
