We purchased this Cartell CP-4 100’ cable as a replacement for our driveway automatic gate and it works great. Fixed our problem and the installation was so easy. Would highly recommend this product.

This item was easy to install and very well built. It is a great value for the money because I could do it myself without paying a contractor to do the installation.

The unit works just like the tube style Cartel CP3 and EMX branded comparable units. I noticed no difference between this one based on experience with the older style units. The unit has a sensitivity adjustment inside the direct burial housing if you need to turn it down or up. It is set on high from the factor. I believe I read the warranty is voided if you don't run it in conduit. 1/2" PVC conduit is the size that the receiver unit accepts without requiring any adapters couplings.I also liked that the wire was not as tacky as the older Cartel CP units wiring. The old wire would kinda stick together and get in a tangled mess when initially laying out. This wire outer coating is much nicer and easier to manage. The unit does not have the alum shielding wrap which can be cumbersome when splicing or cutting it shorter. This is another plus for me.Unit works well and will hopefully be as reliable as the prior CARTEL and EMX units used in the past. I recommend conduit burial. This will make replacement of the units much easier if you remember the approximate bury location you can simply fish the new unit wire back to the operator box and not worry about the trenching aspect. Is it worth the $80 to $100 extra in conduit. In my opinion it was and will make a subsequent repair much less labor intensive. Good luck.

This unit was a replacement. The first unit had a defect in the outer housing. The unit detected properly, but with the leak, it stopped working within 2 weeks. The new unit that the seller replaced the old one with worked as intended. The range isn't quite as far as is indicated (could be due to the material by the driveway).

I bought this driveway opener to replace the one I had before. I have a lot of rock in my soil so I had to run the cable above ground to the gate controller. I accidentally cut the previous cable with my mower and bought this to replace it.This was identical to the other, and both have worked well for several years, unless of course you cut the wires! The one I cut worked fine after I rewired it to the gate (shorter distance), but it wasn't far enough away to start the gate opening like I wanted. I'll just have to move the cable away from where I might mow.

Quit working after 4 months. Company contacted. Required I provide detailed meter readings on unit before replacing unit. I manufactured and installed security gates for 5 years and quit using the CP-2 unit of theirs because of moisture contamination. This product also fails the test. I am done with them.

Gone are the ghost openings I had with a different brand. It works even if your moving less than 5 Mph. I have it set at 65 foot from the gate and has worked flawlessly. I high recommend if you need an exit sensor.
