I am using them on a Herman Miller Aeron chair. The shorter glides allowed for the post at the bottom of the chair to still hit the floor. I returned them and the these work fine. **Q: I need something to "raise" the height of my dining chairs about 1". Would these work? The legs are wood, square-shaped.** A: These gliders are designed specifically to replace the wheels on an office chair. They lock into the mounting sleeve so as to prohibit the chair from rolling. If your kitchen chairs do not have wheels on them, I wouldn't recommend trying to modify these to fit since the amount of material you would have to remove to accommodate the bushing would significantly weaken the leg. I would try looking for actual chair risers that slip over the tip of the leg. Rubber tips that are attached to walking canes would also be another viable option since most of those have anywhere from 1/2" to 2" of solid rubber on the contact surface.
