If you are willing to take the time to read the book thoroughly, can hard wire the unit drilling holes in floors and walls, understand basic wiring diagrams, want a do-it-yourself product and are on a budget, this might be a good unit for you. It is actually fairly simple to program and about the 5th time through you should get the hang of it. In operation it could not be easier. You will need to provide a UPS to buffer your power source - do NOT try and skip this suggestion. It uses standard PIR's, sets off an external alarm (both extra items) and calls three numbers with a message you record. I live out in the country where this is about my only choice, but considering the cost of the unit and the work involved, if a decent alarm company willing to do their own installation was available with a contract less than $20 a month, I'd sign the contract. Be sure and check with you local police before you program it call them.

Would be nice to have a 12v adaptor with the unit.

This is a very good emergency dialer with lots of options. Fairly easy to program and so far has performed perfectly. Great value at this price.

Worked as designed,...This was a replacement from a lightning strike,...I'll keep using them,..

This item is very easy to setup and use. I had no trouble at all installing it into my alarm system.
