That is what is amazing on this series
Attack on Titan: The Harsh Mistress of the City is a side story of Attack on Titan incredibly well thought and written (I've rated the other volume 5).The awesomeness of Attack on Titan's people despair is there. That is what is amazing on this series, right? You will also be presented with "fighting sequences" so well written you'll feel there, like in the anime show.Overall, everything in this book is genuine and you will never feel that it drifts away from the original story feel (contrary to other Light Novels on Attack on Titan).I liked the first volume a lot, but the second one was better for me.On the first, the main characters are fairly linear and "pure". By contrast, on the second one, due to traumatic experiences, the main characters' personalities change, making them much more interesting.Having watched all anime OVAs and read the other LN of Attack on Titan, this is by far my favorite.Enjoy.

Keep them coming!
Really enjoyed the detail in this novel as it covers a small town left behind after the wall was destroyed. Great series, great spin-off, and great novel.

Basically what you'd expect based on the first one.
This is a satisfying conclusion to the Harsh Mistress story. Rita's development is believable, but all the other characters fall flat in comparison. The climactic conflict is resolved with a shameless deus ex machina, and I don't feel like Rita was redeemed well enough. The writing isn't bad, per se, but it's not all that good either. If you enjoyed the first book, you'll enjoy this one too, but I don't recommend it very highly.

I like anything AoT, so I liked this. The epilogue was kinda bland, but overall I enjoyed it.

I received this as a gift because I love the artist
This is part 2 of the story and is not a manga. I received this as a gift because I love the artist, Range Murata. His artwork throughout the book did not disappoint me.This part of the story is awesome and improved the story as a whole after the first book. The writing in this one is definitely better and this makes the characters less flat. I enjoyed this whole story because it shows a different side of Attack on Titan that is more interesting than the Survey Corps..
