I was already in love with Shan's basmati rice, and really liked Shan's mixed pickles, but I was hesitant to try a ready-made paste of any kind. I bought this Bombay Biryani sauce in Aug - cooked it in April - 8 months later! It was very delicious! I'm excited to try other Shan sauces!Notes: I did notice that the amount of the cooked chicken with sauce is large, so I only put half of it with the 2 cups of rice, and the other half, we ate like a stew. Also, I added peas to Shan's recipe, just because we love peas.Compared to the biryanis in Indian restaurants, our biryani with Shan's sauce tasted fresher and calmer in the types of spices.

The media could not be loaded.  Shan has made preparing biryani at home easier. Now you don't have to spend hours to prepare the spice mix, cut onions etc. Just follow the instructions and you will have aromatic, full of flavor biryani. I wish i could share the fragrance of this dish which was just heavenly for a biryani fan like myself. I also read some comments regarding the spice level. It maybe suitable not to use the full bottle for 1 meal prep as it will reduce the spiciness level. Also kudos to the seller for stellar service as they provided refund of a bottle that was broken in transit. We will now order monthly spice and grocery mix from Shan.

If you have learned to love butter chicken/nehari/tikka masala/korma in Indian restaurants in America this will not give you that experience. I cannot speak to its authenticity within some regional cuisine,What I can say is that I have come toexpect Korma to be mild and creamy not spicy and sour,I expect butter chicken to be buttery and rich not spicy and sour, andI expect tikka masala to be tangy and rich not too sour to eat, andnehari has a strong gingery flavor this was was at least vaguely reminiscent of what I expected but it was still strongly sour and if prepared as instructed spicy water with meat lumps.If you _love_ sour flavors and think Korma should be spicy maybe these will be just what you are looking for,I will be throwing out the remaining jars as I don't wish to waste more meat or force my husband to eat more barely edible things. In addition several jars arrived broken as they don't seem to have figured out how to package the jars safely.Good luck

I have ordered it 4 times now and it was perfect ..until my last order where one of the bottle was "not sealed or opened", it 's written on the lid "do not purchase if safety button is up" and in this bottle the safety button was up !!! I will still give it a 4 stars because the rest of it was good with a loss of one bottle. I wish SHAN would sell the concentrate instead of the sauce.

I bought it for a dinner party for my friends along with other Shan products. My Californian friends were so impressed that they left with the amazon's link to order it for themselves too. Very high quality ingredients and taste is very authentic. Already ordered another big package. I highly recommend this brand over any other.

Product came leaking and not packaged securely, with the lid popping off. Otherwise, this product is usually good and the taste is authentic with a little kick to it.

This sauce was very tasty and not to hot. I did end up pouring off some of the gee - only to save a few calories.
