First item arrived scratched, dented and with paints cracked and shattered in several places. Received replacement in perfect condition and in a timely manner. Some paints in the 2nd set also have fine line cracks but those don’t matter, I’m just happy the cakes are not shattered and the metal container is in perfect condition. The palette is beautiful. (I love the pink.) Paints are like butter and colors are very nice. Btw, the exchange was so easy. I just had to bring the first item to Whole Foods, they scanned a code that was emailed to me, and they did all the packaging and labeling. I really appreciated the ease of getting a replacement for a beautiful product. Thanks Amazon and HIMI/MIYA!!

Much better than the Daler-Rowney beginner paints I was given to try last year - they flaked off the paper and were very chalky. These activate easily and quickly with a drop or two of water. The colors are vibrant and fun to use. So far they have mixed well. I have no idea about their light fastness but I bought them for practice and play so I'm not concerned about that. They lift easily so if you want to layer you won't want to make more than one pass for each layer. A little goes a long way if you want translucent colors. One or two of the colors did chip a little in transit but no big pieces and none of the colors shattered. You'll need to keep the cardboard sleeve to keep it closed or use a rubber band or hair scrunchie or something else. I like the way it opens up but you'll need to clean the bottom section before storing it or, if you leave the paint on that section to dry, store it on a paper towel or in a baggy or something else.

For a cheap set of paints these are pretty good, and I love the packaging! I've attached a little painting I did with them on the provided paper.

I've had this for about a year or more at this point. The colors are beautiful and blend together nicely. It's easy to use and fits perfectly in your purse to you can take it with you when you travel as well

At a great price, these have all qualities of true watercolor like transparency and the ability to blend and create blooms. The colors are vibrant and pretty lightfast. This set is perfect for watercolor learners like me.UPDATE: After almost a year of using, I realized that the paint dries very quickly on both the paper and the palette. This makes wet on wet painting difficult because it shortens the drying time. For eg, large areas like sky needs to stay wet to achieve beautiful effects, and this paint usually dries too quickly for that.But besides, lightfastness is pretty decent for indirect indoor lighting.

This was a gift for my sister who has taken up watercolor painting. Something small she could carry in her handbag to use on the go. And she absolutely loves it! She said the paper is marvelous and it is the cutest smallest watercolor kit out there! The small yellow colored kit came with a small selection of water color paints, the paper, a water rollable brush. All very stylish.

Amazon has sent the wrong color product TWICE now. I ordered blue both times but the yellow set was sent both times. The product itself is a solid travel set and aside from the packaging I don’t think I’d see much changes. The colors seem bright and pigmented. The black is actually a bit on the grainy side. Overall I’m giving it 4 stars because it’sa great value even if it’s not what I ordered.

I really love this set! I brought it on my architecture trip and it was the perfect on the go set. I did bring my own paper just because I wanted a bigger size but the watercolors itself turned out beautiful!
