Good item
I bought this thinking it was a charger for a battery but it's a flash light. Sometimes, in the dark the power button is difficult to find. I wish that the coating had a none slip surface for walking m dogs. I wrapped a long rubber band around it to help. Light is bright - charge holds a very long time. The recharging is convenient. I would recommend it.

Dose at least one thing right
It works as expected in reference to being a battery, 4 starts there. It loses one star for the following. It's the light that leaves much to be desired. Fit and finish, it doesn't have a smooth transition to the light and its painted plastic not colored plastic. The plus side to the pop off light is that you can plug it in to other places for power.

Practical, compact and useful
Works well, does exactly what I bought it for. Very compact, and fits right in my purse so it is easy to transport. I wish it provided a longer charge, and the flashlight function doesn't get used because you have to unplug the flashlight to use the charger.

Great for around town (read the instructions)
You’ll only need to read through the instructions once and yes, you’ll need readers or a magnifying glass (I don’t care how old you are). There really is a very tiny manual with very tiny print in the blister pack that will explain a couple of non-intuitive things.Good things:Tootsie-Roll-sized item fits in pocket, purse, satchel, briefcase, whatever (we’re talking full-sized, old-school Tootsie Rolls here, not the miniatures you hand out at Halloween)great size and shape for a handy flashlight when used that wayeasy to find by feel by digging your hand into whatever bag it’s in (and has probably settled to the bottom of)quick (and multiple) charges of smaller items like music players or phonesgets only slightly warm when charging other devices or when it is being rechargedcompetitive priceNot so good things:you may need a little more horsepower to keep a heavily-used tablet running all dayfor heavy travel days (air, taxi, rental car, hotel, lounges, meetings) you will want something with mutiple outlets and more muscle - Amazon Basics has a 10,000 mAh item about the size of a mobile phone that might be more suitable in a situation like that at about twice the priceSummary: a nice tidy piece of work with a flashlight that’s more useful than you expect (I seem to have a talent for dropping anything and everything between my car’s seat and the center console and then have to go hunt for whatever it is). Does the job, decent price, clean design, worth having around IMHO. Probably all you need for a local day’s work, probably not all you need for a hard-core road trip, but that isn’t what it’s for.

A Good Item that Could be Designed Better
This is an external rechargeable 5v Li-ion battery pack that is shaped like a cylindrical flashlight. The flashlight has a detachable flashlight head that plugs seamlessly into the USB type A female socket on one end. There is also a micro USB socket on the same end for charging. You can use this device as a flashlight or external battery backup/extender/charger for your phone, tablet, mp3 player etc. It has 3000 mah capacity which is a little more storage than most cellphone batteries. So if you run out of battery power, you can plug this in and keep using your device. Or you can use it to recharge the internal battery by leaving it plugged in when it’s not being used. This external power pack comes with a USB A to micro USB cable which allows you to charge it from almost any computer device or USB charger including those outlet chargers that typically come with your phone. In useThe front of the pack has an on- and off-button. Four tiny blue LEDs are set in a row offset from the power button to show the charge remaining on the device. That way you know when the external power pack itself is running low and needs to be recharged. When the device is on, you only need to hold the on-hold the button down for a moment for the power to be output to the device it’s recharging. However, when the flashlight is plugged into the external power pack, the flashlight is what comes on when you hold the on-button. If you hold the on-button again, it turns off.At first I had thought that there were no instructions were provided with the device; just a diagram on the packaging illustrating the features. But when I was throwing away the packaging, i noticed that the instructions were embedded in the packaging itself. They're very hard to see but they are there.Another thing to mention is that there is a socket in the base of the pack on the opposite side from the USB port that does not have a cover to close it off.In use this is a nice pack with a tactile rubberized finish. It is about one inch in diameter and five inches long when the flashlight is plugged in. One niggle is that since it’s cylindrical and quite tall, you may be inclined to lay it on its side. This is a bad idea as it will roll off surfaces very easily. The flashlight tip plugs in flush with the battery pack and sits firmly in place. The seam is probably splash proof but since the open socket in the rear end is open you will want to avoid water. It’s a shame there isn’t a rubber cap to plug the socket in the rear. I’d be reluctant to use it outdoors as a flashlight in damp weather because of this.Taking all the above into consideration it is priced reasonably. As a backup power source for your electronic devices it is very good. Being able to use it as a flashlight is pretty handy so I do like it but if the open socket in the rear end wasn’t open and if it weren’t quite so cylindrical and prone to rolling away the design would be vastly improved.
