Lightweight, sturdy and not for taller people
I have the anti-shock version of this and wanted another around that would be handy. I think I prefer it without the anti-shock feature as I'm using it as a cane and am not needing the anti-shock feature. As I extended it, I accidentally pulled it past the "stop" mark. It's easy to do b/c each section is so short. Fully extended to the length I would use it as a cane, it is just barely long enough to work for me. I set it side by side with my anti-shock version and noticed I had that one set longer. There is no "longer" setting for this. I'm 5'10", and it barely is long enough for me. The extremely compact size will encourage me to keep it though I wish it were and inch longer. If you are 5'11" or taller, this won't work for you. I wonder why this isn't mentioned in the reviews and the description? They gave it in metric, but I made an assumption that it would serve someone of my common height. I would give it five stars if not for the length problem; my previous Leki poles/canes could be extended for hiking purposes. I don't see this as "trekking pole" as I've always needed one longer for chest level use.Edited 3/11/13 I returned it. Just too short. I then ordered the Leki one with the red quick snap lock and that came broken and had to return it too. It had already been returned once as it didn't have any instructions with it. I ended up with the regular Leki Wanderfreund version without the anti-shock feature. I'm keeping that but prefer my original one with the anti-chock feature. For unknown reasons that one is lighter and doesn't rattle like the others.

it seems excellent. It is definitely lightweight
BEWARE! This is only a CANE (hand on top of grip) -- not a trekking pole (hand under and around grip) as incorrectly labeled by Amazon. The fully extended length of this pole is 35.4 inches, as another website correctly states. The Amazon specs are WRONG. I kept looking for another segment to open up to Amazon's stated 145cm (57 inches) -- there are three segments, but only two of them are adjustable.Note that I am 5'4". For me, the pole must be almost fully extended to even use it as a cane -- there is no way it can be used as a walking stick unless you are a quite a bit shorter than I am.As for quality of the pole, it seems excellent. It is definitely lightweight, folds up to a small size for fitting into a suitcase, and easy to adjust the segments. My two stars are for Amazon mislabeling this product -- not for the Leki pole itself.

I have several of these canes and I love them. They are light
The handle design has a problem. the top of the handle comes off. I have several of these canes and I love them. They are light, and retractable and yet strong and well shaped (especially the handle). However, I had to fill the handle with silicone to hold it together. This actually improves the cane giving the handle a slightly heavier feel. I wrap several rubber wrist bands around my handle and it makes it more comfortable and easier to keep a grip on. Wish the product as delivered was designed this way!

Leki super micro trecking pole from amazon
TI The strap on this pole is both too thin and located on the wrong side of the pole for comfortable use. Former versions of this pole had a leather strap that was much better.

Well-designed, useful walking stick.
I need a walking stick that is flexible in use, sturdy, light, yet strong enough to take care of a couple of dogs that like to attack me. This is a great stick for all I need. The handle design is perfect. I can hold it like I do cross country ski poles, so it is secure and my hand doesn't slip out. But I can also hold it as a cane. The length is easily adjustable and yet it stays in place when the clamps are pressed in. Doesn't take a lot of muscle to adjust it, either. The tip is a good rubber base, but it removes with just a bit of tugging and t hen you have a nice carbide tip, not a sharp point but a solid tip that holds well in ice on the streets. It is exactly what I needed.

Generally a good staff
Generally a good staff but should be a little heavier, made from more substantial material, and the rounded shape of the rubber tip attachment makes it less stable on a flat surface.

A bit aware to assemble and adjust
It's ok. I find it a little awkward to assemble/adjust.

A Great Thing To Buy
I Love this micro pole. I have had these for years. This one is better than the older model because of the hand grip area. This one is much more comfortable. I have used it as a walking stick and now that I have torn my achellies tendon I am using it as a cane. I also love how compact it becomes. Other canes fold over and have to be put in a bag. This one unscrews so it is simple. Up and down it goes in a minute. I have recommended it friends and the are crazy about it. I know also know people love it to travel with. A great product!!!
