I love the product. Money n time saving. I tested from 1/4 to 7/8 . For 7/8 add liquid detergent inside pipe will make pin easy remove. I use small PCs copper pipe that I normally throw away. Now I used this tools to made few couplings for future use. I think I do have to buy copper couplings any more. I give it 5 Star Jason. Only thing is I can not id which cover is top . I open it in wrong site all pins drop. Hope factory can made cover easy to id which site is top, so cux can always open it from top without mass

I really liked how this device works and and its ease of use but the flare it produced was not acceptable for my application. As you can see in the photo, the flare produced (one on the right) was not complete while the one pictured on the left, is what was expected (this one I created using a different flaring tool). I tried different approaches but was never successful in creating a proper flare (at least not to my liking). My application is HVAC and the size of tubing is 7/8".

Use some dish soap to lubricate the swage insert or it will get stuck, tool is hard to get out once inserted without soap. Do not plan to use this in tight spaces, but makes a nice clean brazing connection if you plan ahead.

I purchased this in the hope that it would flare -8 (1/2") stainless steel tubing with a wall thickness of .049" It does not... the 37degree cone was damaged on the first attempt and I could not get the tube from being pushed through the dies. If you intend to use this on stainless steel, be advised it may not work. I'm sure its great on softer copper and aluminum tube.

Should be able to flare any kind of piping from the Softest the hardest kind of aluminum to steel piping including stainless steel tubing. With out leaving a mark on the pip when flaring .and also a Indicator to tell you how far to put the pipe in that you were flaring. It should not be guesswork.
