Aqara is awesome
I have recently fallen head first into the Aqara ecosystem and I absolutely love it! These temperature and humidity sensors are affordable, discreet, very very portable, and work really well. The updates to the app can lag at times, but it has to conserve its battery so I can live with that. It allows me to keep an eye on the temperatures in important rooms in my house with a better degree of accuracy than my tado valves, they are compatible with and integrate into home assistant and Apple HomeKit effortlessly. Connectivity wise, you need the Aqara hub but it’s a matted connection which is great. Now if only Aqara would send me stuff to review for free 🤣

Very reliable, long battery life, poor battery cover quality
I used to use Sonoff products for my home automations in Home Assistant, and I still use their Zigbee hub, but unfortunately the reliability of sensor connection was very poor. I had to restart it at least once every one or two weeks. Obviously, there's no automations to be had if you can't rely on your sensors being available. The battery life was also quite poor for Sonoff products. So I've started looking for something I can rely on. I knew about Aqara, but their products always looked so much pricier than Sonoff. But I had to try something or give up on home automations in my house altogether. So I've got myself a temperature and a motion sensor from Aqara. Connected them and waited for at least half a year to see how it fares. I can't remember having any signal loss in that time! I then got a couple more sensors and moved them to most inaccessible places such as attic. Had maybe 1 or 2 signal losses in 2 or more years! On top of that, the battery life is amazing! I think I only need to change the battery once in 2 years. I'm do to get my last 3 sensors from Aqara and because of their reliability I will be finally able to create some automations I can rely on. Speaking about the downsides of Aqara - besides the price, I find that the battery cover is made of very soft plastic and the groove meant for opening it simply brushes away trying to change the battery. For that reason you may find that your sensor may not last more than 2 battery changes unless you glue something extra on it. For something this expensive I think Aqara should come up with some more user friendly ways of changing batteries of their products.

Good sensor Poor battery
I now have eight of these temperature and humidity sensors scattered around our house, they were simple to set up along with the M2 hub and integrated easily onto my home assistant. They appear to be accurate and responsive to change in temperature so very pleased with them. The only negative is the battery which is included in each sensor is either very poor quality or old because they only lasted for two weeks! I have replaced 3 of them with Duracell batteries and so far so good.

Works well, even at low temperatures
Have one of these in my freezer after an incident where the door didn't close properly. Works with Home Assistant using a SonOff Zigbee usb stick and no issues. Working down to -18c as shown in the images. Reported battery dropped like a stone (probably due to temperature) but it's been in the freezer since 1st August 2025 and hasn't moved significantly since. As long as it reports I'm happy. Simple to set up. No need for the Aqara hub if you have a 3rd party zigbee dongle.

Absolutely love these - Responsive, small, easy to use
Using this with Home Assistant running on a Raspberry Pi 4 and a SkyConnect dongle, No Aqara hub required as the SkyConnect dongle is the Hub (Coordinator). These sensors are tiny, only just bigger than a 2p coin so easy to stick to the wall and disappear from view. Reporting is fab. At first it was reporting to HA every 5 minutes then it stopped. I thought it was out of range as the Pi is downstairs in the lounge and the sensor is upstairs at the other end of the house through several walls, but it wasn't that. It was becasue the temp/humidity/pressure hadn't changed so it doesn't update. Brilliant as this saves on battery. I'm about to buy a stack more of these for other rooms so I can compare the humidity and then trigger the bathroom fan based on the delta between them so I discount environmental rises in humidity. Anyway. If you're looking for an easy to use, rock solid humidity, temp and pressure sensor that is so small you won't even notice them then go for these.

Battery life really sucks
I've purchased two of these last week and their battery life has dropped faster than Eddie the Eagle (yeah I'm that old :). One is showing 44% battery and the other 56% and both dropping about 4% every few hours (as per Home Assistants graph). So I guess I might get two weeks out of a battery and not the two years advertised. On a positive note they look smart, are compact and their readings are the most accurate of all my zigbee devices. They also have a pressure sensor which is not often mentioned. However, two weeks battery life...

Works well
Works really well and the double sided tape is perfect, very strong. I don’t know how accurate the sensitivity is, but integrates well with aqara and HomeKit. I had issues with one room being damp, so this allows me to keep an eye on the humidity level when running the dehumidifier. Battery has been holding well for the last 6 months, it does go down quite quickly to begin with, then settles. It is a bit in the expensive side, but honestly all the aqara gadgets we have are well built and I know it will last long.

Aqara temperature sensor
Nice and small so easy to hide out the way. Seems to be fairly accurate. Delivered on time would recommend.

Reliable and accurate!
Once the m3 hub was installed. The temp and humidity sensors were a breeze to setup. Using in three rooms and have been more reliable and accurate than HomePod mini’s built in sensors.

Works perfect for my application
I wanted to know the temperature and humidity on our lanai. I already had some Aqara devices so this seemed like the perfect fit. Super easy to connect. I have a big thermometer out on the lanai already. It seems to display the same temperature. So I’d say it probably more accurate than my thermometer. It is pretty far from the hub, plus it has to go through cinder block walls and it works with no issues. It’s nice and small. To be honest, I forgot where I put it out there. I’m going to have to find it eventually. I would purchase this again without a doubt.
