I'd like matching chairs, but some being armless.** A: I'm not an expert on these chairs, but there appear to be several similar but different ones. Some have arm rests, some don't. You have to assemble the arm rests. They attach by 4 bolts to a metal plate on the underside of the seat. I suppose you could leave the arm rests off if you wanted to. You would just have eight holes with metal shafts in them on the underside of the seat. Note: Similar and identical chairs are sold under various names at sites other than Amazon. Some have seats that touch the back rest, others have a space between the back rest and the seat. Some are brushed metal, others are chrome. Some are advertised and sold under the name Matrix; some under the name Jaylo; others under the name Orren Ellis. Most are sold individually; others are sold only in pairs. Pay close attention to the product descriptions and the photos. Sometimes the available colors don't match the photos. Sometimes the particular color is not actually available and the order may be cancelled by the seller after it has been placed (Walmart fulfilled through Wayfair). Also, sometimes the bolts cannot be screwed into the metal shafts. You will just be left with 2 pre-drilled holes under the seat on each side, which can only be seen if you kneel down and look under the seat.
