IFor best experience Get the App
The Teradek VidiU Mini is an ultra-portable version of the original VidiU streaming device, offering the capability to stream an HDMI signal live to all RTMP platforms, such as Livestream and YouTube Live, over dual-band Wi-Fi, or to transmit your camera feed wirelessly to Teradek's Live:Air live production app, available to VidiU Mini users as a free download. The VidiU Mini does away with the Ethernet and USB modem ports available on the full-size VidiU, as well as with the audio and mic ports and LCD, to allow for the more compact size. It also features an upgrade in battery life to three hours.

I wanted this to work so badly.
I do video production professionally, and a large part of my work is live streaming. I bought this in the hopes that I wouldn't have to take my bulky streaming setup to simple one camera streaming jobs. Setup is an absolute nightmare. The app does not work well at all, connecting the VidiU Mini to wifi is a nightmare, and not once was I ever able to get a reliable stream to work. I really wanted this product to work. I'll try again with a full sized VidiU, as most of the problems I have with this seem like they could be solved with the screen and manual interface of the full size VidiU.

Not bad
I have two.For the tech savvy: Four stars. Takes a LOT of work to get functional (I had to reset to factory default three times), but once it's functional, it's GREAT. Be aware that it does NOT output RTSP.If you're working in the field with a hotspot, I highly recommend getting the Live:Air app and using that as a switcher, then sending it to your own server on RaspberryPi or a desktop or laptop running nginx/RTMP instead of using the built-in streaming functionality. If you're working in a studio with wifi and a separate switcher: make sure your wifi is super strong. Also, the only switching software I've found to actually work is vMix which you can combine with that RTMP feed. For the non-tech savvy: One star. STAY AWAY. STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY.

Live-streaming in the go with your iPad
They are a little slow to boot and connect. Once I updated to the latest firmware, connected via WiFi. Using my iPad with Teradek Live app is straight forward and simple. After some using really liking them, have two. Now I’m using them as client monitors thru the iPad app.

DO NOT BUY!
Worst streaming device ever! Do not buy!! Issues connection, resetting, for our fast pace ENG and live events this was the total waste of money.

it is easy to use
The connection with app is a little slow. I have trouble with firmware update use app when I got it. I almost thought it have bricked. The recovery mode save me. In general, it is easy to use.

It blew up.
We received one of these with our Hudl Sideline kit and it is a pain at almost every point. Difficult to charge because it has an internal sensor if it gets too hot it will stop charging and gives no visible indication I had to search through forums as to why it wasn't charging. But worst of all, on its 6th use, it fried. We lost our broadcast 3 plays into the game, I went to check on it and there was smoke coming out of it. Luckily Hudl is replacing it, but I would rather them find a better option for their kit. If you are paying money for this, DON'T! Look into different options.

Unstable, at best.
I use the VidU Mini as part of a package from Hudl Sideline football streaming kit. The other reviews are correct: the device is unstable. Sometimes it takes more than 30 minutes before it connects, sometimes it doesn't connect at all. Recording live events, such as a football game, means you only get one chance the event. Don't use the VidU Mini if the event is important since will likely not get the early portion of the event, if you get connected at all.
