Neither is ideal, so a really smart guy named Kevin Royes invented Kelvin.23...one tool to fix hundreds of jobs and compact enough to fit in the palm of your hand. He managed to pack 23 of the most commonly used tools and features into a compact, rugged, and stylish urban design. The cast aluminum body, and rubber touch handle are ergonomically integrated to act tough and feel good. When it comes to house and apartment chores, get the right tool for your life. Good Idea But Not Very Sturdy
I had this for a couple years and it served me well for a little bit. I particularly liked the bits and the right-angle setting to achieve more torque. Over time, the features started to deteriorate. First, the spring on the button that releases the screw driver portion broke so the button wouldn't return to the locked position. It was fine to manually push the button back but then after a few turns, it'd loosen up and swing freely. Then the flashlight stopped working. I tried replacing the batteries and it seems to be something with the wiring that came loose. After that, the measuring tape spring went and it wouldn't retract the tape steadily or smoothly. After some storage time, since I don't like throwing things away, I took it out again to use some of the bits in another screwdriver and all the bits had basically rusted. I think it was a good concept to have all these different tools in one unit but the workmanship can definitely improve to help this tool actually last.

My favorite multitool! Excellent!
FYI: the photo is misleading, since the lid to the bits compartment is open in the photo, and the screwdriver is out. When the tool is closed, the lid is down and the screwdriver folds flat underneath, so the multitool is compact and balancedI I love this tool! First, it was designed and produced by a teenager, who used common sense in figuring out what would be most useful to have in one tool. I love the magnetic strip on both sides of the screwdriver, so screws and screwdriver bits can be secured while working. There are 15 screwdriver bits - regular sizes to miniature - in an inside a compartment, the most bits I have ever found within a multitool. There is a 6.5 foot tape measure, the longest I have seen in a multitool. The flashlight lights up the screwdriver for poorly lit areas, and it has a convenient level on top. Truth be told, the rapid release and locking mechanism on the screwdriver would make it a good self-defense tool, as well. If I were to be a little picky, I would have made the hammer protrude out a little further off the bottom back edge, since I already scraped up the bottom of the multitool hammering a small nail. The only thing I would want to add would be a nail pull/pry bar, which would fit nicely into the screwdriver where there is an open metal cutout already. That would be helpful for small jobs, similar to the hammer's usefulness for hanging pictures and making small repairs. Overall this is a great little multitool. Nice job!

Exactly what every urbanite needs
My wife found the item through "The Daily Grommet" web site. I quickly found it available through Amazon. I ordered 2 - his and hers.- Yes, it is quite large if you compare them to Gerbers or Leatherman multi-tools.- No, it will not build a house, an ARK, or help you maintain your Farm, Barn or stables.- Yes, it does every "little thing" that it advertises. Hang a picture, put together anything from IKEA or The container store.- Yes, it has very sturdy construction and even has a "non-slip" grippie type top (which is the handle of the screw-driver.I've only had it for a short time, and in concert with my Gerber800 Multi-pliers I dont need anything else!- No, it does not have a belt clip or a holster of any kind. But considering I wear cargo pants around the house when doing projects, its not a big deal to pop the Kelvin.23 in a cargo pocket.- No, the Kelvin.23 does not have a pliers.- If you have any Gerber Mult-pliers (specifically 800 Legend) these two things weigh the same (by feel).Yes I recommend the Kelvin.23 to urbanites around the world.

Neat Little Tool
Now I don't have to go digging through my tool chest for every little job. I wondered when I ordered it if it really could be used as a hammer without breaking, so I did a bunch of hammering (smalls nail for pictures and stuff; you wouldn't want to use it to frame a house of course). It held up just fine. Plus light, level, and tape measure? Hey, for those times I have to go buy something at Lowes and need to check size and read fine print, this thing is perfect. Buy it.

Can't Recommend
First, be warned, this is from the UK and if you don't like it you'll have to mail it back to there. My very thoughtful wife bought this for me, being a tool guy thinking it would be really neat to have all of these things in one device, unfortunatley it really isn't very good at anything. It is very heavy and way too big to carry around in your pocket. The screwdriver portion is kind of cheap looking and the "hammer" is humourous. It would be OK to pound on something that you couldn't do with the palm of your hand. You could probably hammer in one of the little nails that you hang little pictures with.I would either recommend a multi tool by Gerber or Leatherman if you want something to carry aroun, or a small tool kit with a hammer, multi head screw driver and a separate level and you'd probably save money too.
