Alright, I'm just going to start off by saying, if you have any lower back pain, BUY THIS NOW. Don't worry about reading the rest of this or any other review. Buy it first, then you can come back and read the rest. Once you get this and finally get the best rest you've had as far back as you can remember, you'll want to come back here, find me, then hug and kiss me forever. I know - you're welcome.First of all, let me say that I've had lower back issues for a while, now. I have what's called a bulging disc (mostly from bad posture building up over time, working in an office and constantly staring at these darn screens), and I also suffer from additional back pain every month when Aunt Flo comes to town. Lucky me, right? I know.I've got fairly high pain tolerance (it happens when you live with constant, daily pain), but I'd still say that my daily, regular pain level was a consistent 3-4, from the moment I woke up until the moment I fell asleep at night. On bad days, I would be at a 6-7 all day, and if my cycle also coincided with that, I was rockin' at a full 8-9 out of 10, ALL DAY LONG.What sucked worse is that we paid a lot of money for a new mattress and various things to try and help ease my back pain, but because of the curvature of my back (also the fact that my measurements are very skewed - my waist is significantly smaller than my hips, about a foot - so when I lie down, my butt pushes my hips up, with my waist just hovering a few inches in the air and eventually curving into the worst posture possible), I would often wake up in excruciating pain. If you have back pain like I do, you know how waking up with that pain can just ruin your entire day, because you're basically just barely hobbling around, hoping you won't pull something or just collapse from the pain in the middle of your day.When I found this pillow, I was writhing in pain, thinking "45 bucks for a that?! That's it?!" but also, "well, I'd pay 100x more for it, as long as it works.." So, I hesitantly placed the order, and I waited. The box arrived, I ripped through the packaging, and I was once again left with the thought, "that's it?!" I was disappointed, clutching my new pillow as I headed upstairs and to the bedroom. I plopped it down on the bed, and I pouted as I lied down on it, to see what it could possibly do.I was so wrong.I don't know how something so simple can be so utterly amazing. At first, it felt a little uncomfortable, just because it's something I'm not used to. Once I got over that initial feeling, I realized my lower back FINALLY had the support that I've been needing. I'm a back sleeper, and this pillow (with the extra, optional piece) was EXACTLY the amount of cushioning and support that allowed my back to maintain it's natural curvature, and I almost went to sleep right then and there. When I finally got to bed for real that night, I went to sleep and let me tell you..I got the best sleep I've had in years, and I finally woke up with almost NO pain (still at a 1-2, but this is a pillow, not a miracle worker). I was able to just sit right up without propping myself up with my arms, and I got out of bed without struggling or wincing in pain. If I'm being completely honest, I damn near cried.When you live with so much pain for so long, you sometimes forget what it's like to have lived without it. And when you finally get that relief, you realize just how bad it was, all that time. With that said, I TRULY hope that this pillow brings my fellow omg-my-back folks some much-deserved relief, too.*** PS - the only slight downside I see is that the size and shape of this "pillow" isn't right for regular pillow cases, so I'm not sure how to keep it covered (aside from sewing my own covers for it). When I first took this out of the box I was shocked at how small it was. It's not very wide and very thin. For the life of me I could not see how something so small would work. But I had it so I tried it and was pleasantly surprised.Despite only being an inch or so thick, it did offer support for my lower back and did seem to make an improvement in my sleep/back pain...when I stayed on it. If you're a back sleeper you won't have any problems, but I toss and turn onto each side as well as my back during the night and that was an issue. The pillow is only 17" wide, so when I placed it under my back it fit with very little extending past my sides. But when I'd roll onto a side, I'd be off the pillow. So now I have two, safety pinned together, so I can roll from side to back to other side and never be off of it.It does have a removable cover on it, which I also like, which is made of a soft material that is easy to sleep on.I got one of those emails from the manufacturer you get after purchasing something from Amazon asking how you liked it and such and I replied. I was, again, pleasantly surprised when I got a reply, from real person no less. It never occurred to me people really wrote those things or answered you when you sent them in. It was a joy working with them and have no complaints and would do business with them in the future.

This pillow is wonderful! After having back surgery 4 months ago after suffering from back pain for 20 years, I finally decided to purchase a pillow that will help to make sleeping more comfortable. Although I am young, I have not gotten a good night's sleep in years due to pain. I was constantly shifting trying to find a good position, which was not helping my back at all. Since surgery, I was using an old memory foam pillow under my knees, but it was too bulky and uncomfortable. I have had to change the way I sleep since my surgeon told me sleeping on my back with a pillow was the best thing. This pillow was exactly what I was looking for and have been using it along with a pillow designed specifically for under my knees for the last few nights. The size of the pillow is perfect. So far I have kept both memory foam inserts in but would like to experiment with only one at some point. I highly suggest this lumbar support pillow for anyone with back pain or after surgery! I wish I would have looked at purchasing one sooner!*** After writing my review, I noticed that my pillow does not have the separate insert covers as shown in the pictures. I am disappointed and have written the seller to resolve this issue. I still think the pillow is wonderful and perfect for my back, but I do not like the fact that my pillow is missing some of the listed items. ****** UPDATE ***I received a quick response from the seller regarding the foam covers. I was told that the covers have been removed because they were causing the foam inserts to move around. Without the covers, the foam stays in place better. They are working on updating the photos of the inserts without the covers. I am very happy with the timely response to my concern.

I use it when sitting up on an adjustable bed. All other lumbar supports were much too thick for what I needed. This is the perfect size. Would have given 5 stars if shipping was quicker. Took nearly a month to arrive.

This lumbar pillow is very small and made of a material that adds little to no support when I used it. It made absolutely no difference supporting my back and is completely useless. For the price, I would not consider even keeping it to use as a neck pillow or perhaps a lumbar support pillow while sitting in a chair. I would not suggest purchasing this item.
