World famous Fairy tales bedtime story book Chinese Early education pinyin books ,set of 20 Paperback – January 1, 2016

Very glad to find this Chinese story book series. this is a great book for read young readers learning Chinese. It takes me about 5 minutes for each story. My son loves every story I read at night!

These are mostly Western European fairy tales and a couple of Chinese ones thrown in. The binding is like a pamphlet, very light and glossy but couldn't hold up to rough handling from a child. I read it out loud to my son but it they also come with a QR code that plays a video of the story with Mandarin narration. It has pinyin which I've found to be accurate.As to the content of the stories they stick with the actual telling of the tales, not the sanitized Disney versions, so the big bad wolf gets his stomach cut open and filled with stones, or beaten to the death by the mommy animal, etc., etc. I don't read my son The Little Matchstick Girl which I found heartbreaking as a child. The stories don't go into detail or anything but if you're strongly anti-violence in your media then some of these may not be for you. I think most of them are fine and as there are 20 of them, I don't feel cheated if I skip a couple of them.
