This blotter is exactly what I needed. Wish I would have bought this years ago for my desk. The blotter I had before this was a flexible plastic-like surface with foam on the back to protect the desk. Well over the years the foam stuck to the desk and it was hard to remove and parts of the desktop are ruined. This is designed so much better.It appears to be 2 pieces of material that are glued/fused together. The title says leather but one of the descriptions says PU leather. Honestly I can't tell. It doesn't have a leather smell. However, it is priced as if it was leather. I use this to protect the top of my desk where the laptop, keyboard and mouse are. It works fabulous as a mouse pad. The material is soft, flexible, and very smooth (no bumps). It has a matte finish and doesn't have any shine/sheen to it. I experienced no bad smells or odors of any kind. I was worried about the edges not wanting to lay flat out of the box and that never happened. It is flat as a pancake from day one. Some people complained about needing to watch how much pressure you use when writing I don't see that as an issue. I took a single sheet of paper and wrote pretty hard with a pen and pencil. The paper didn't rip and there was no indentation left in the blotter. It was very smooth to write, as I expected it would be.If you spilled liquid on the blotter it would not soak through but it could roll off the edges and touch the desk. I have set a warm plate on it and no marks or indentations appeared and the desk was fine.I wish it came in bigger sizes. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend.

My desk is a beautifully hand built desk to fit in my strange little office space. The only problem was that part of the top of the desk had a little split across the middle which made a kind of lump along the length of the desk right where I do all of my writing and work in front of the keyboard.This was my solution. I crossed my fingers and hoped it would work.It is wonderful. It is not only a nice texture but easy to clean and I can see where it would be easy to cut to fit in a smaller space if it is a bit to long. It's an excellent mouse pad so that now I'm not always falling off that thing while intensely working with the mouse (way less aggravation!!!) AND nothing gets stuck to it like the old mouse pad. It also made a nice smoothing effect along that trouble spot so that now I can write and am not always getting the keyboard hung up. I have found that writing on paper on top of it is not a problem with pen poking through the paper because it is too soft - that was a concern when buying it - but it works nicely without any trouble. The length is good in that it extends out of my crucial work area to the sides so that there is continuity of the flat surface. It was also a surprise that now my arms have a little bit of "padding" when I'm working on the keyboard and they aren't sticking to the desk top!All in all - I would definitely recommend this .

I got this mat because I had a felt mat previously. Loved it. Nothing moved unless I moved it. It had a rubberized under carriage. The only thing I didn't like about that is the pilling and the build up of the fabric from use.It's worth its money to get this mat. Its nice and clean and has two different textures for whatever preference you like. The only dislike I have is that it slides around on my desk top. I have a laminated MDF desk which is pretty slick in texture. A keyboard, mouse and large midi keyboard on top, and it still moves around when I put my elbow on it. I tried taping a couple corners with scotch and painters tape. Didn't work. But I'm adapting to it and I think it will work well in the setup. For the price, try it. It works really well in my matte black setup. I'm happy I purchased it. No ragrets.But if you're looking for a cheap "leather" mat that presents well, then it does it job.

I was looking for an unusual (evidently) sized mouse pad. I actually needed a mouse pad and larger to cover the hinges on my drop-down desk tray for my keyboard. The hinges kept rubbing on my wrists. I also don't like the limitations of a standard size mouse pad. When gaming, I sometimes have to move fast and don't want to slide off the mouse pad, lol! This item came rolled up, in a box, in plastic. There was no smell to the item right out of the box. When I laid it out, there was a slight curve in the pad, but several hours later, it's almost gone. Rolling it the other way also helps. The pale blue looks great with my white desk. Pink is always another option on the other side of the pad (not for my decor). The material says "leather" -- I think it's the manufactured kind, but it doesn't matter. It's a nice weight and the mouse works great on it (mouse was sticking a bit on my desk). The mouse pad is certainly water resistent if you keep liquids by your keyboard/mouse. It's a bit thicker than I expected, which is a good feature; I thought it would be very thin but it has some "body" to it, which even provides a bit of padding (slight, but it's something and definitely feels better than a hard desk surface). All in all, such a nice addition to my desk. It's inexpensive, functional and attractive. What more could you want?

Contemporary grey color matches easily with current desk set up, easy to clean when water or coffee is spilled on top. Good value overall. We actually purchased 2 of these in our family. The only thing I may recommend is adding something sticky/grippy at the bottom to help minimize the pad from slipping.

Description says it's length is 14 inches, but one I received is 12 inches only, the colour is dull and no brand name over it as shown.
