From the Manufacturer The Science Behind Silver Salt (Simplified) By infusing The Lux Puff with natural silver salt, the silver’s antimicrobial properties are permanently ingrained in the material. It does not rub off or wash out and it's guaranteed for the life of the product. Natural silver has what is called an oligodynamic effect meaning it prevents the growth of bacteria. Silver carries a positive charge. Bacteria carries a negative charge. When the two come in contact, the silver particle breaks the cell wall of the bacteria; destroying the bacteria before it has a chance to reproduce. What's even better, only very small amounts of silver are required for treating materials with Polygiene silver salt. Treating approximately 5,000 garments require the same amount of silver as one or two silver rings. About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. Essential Bath Tool How did you come up with the idea for this product? The idea behind the creation of The Lux Puff was two-fold. In our household, we used both washcloths and bath poufs. It was a bit cumbersome to have to switch back and forth when showering or bathing. Our thought process was to combine both into one. The second element was to improve the hygienic nature of bath tools. If you have ever had a loofah unravel on you, what it reveals can be eye-opening if not downright gross. Standard bath tools are breeding grounds for bacteria, mold, and mildew. We use these products every day and it's important to ensure a clean product is being used on your skin, particularly for those with sensitive skin, acne, and psoriasis. Through much research and testing, we came up with a solution that delivers on all these points. What makes your product special? Aside from the options you get with two different materials for cleansing your body, The Lux Puff incorporates simple science, not harsh chemicals, to ensure your hat what you rub on your body is as clean as possible. What has been the best part of your startup experience? The best part, by far, has been the wonderful people we have met that, had we not started this journey, might have never crossed paths. It's also extremely satisfying to hear feedback about how The Lux Puff exceeded their expectations, especially those who have been using it for 6+ months and it's still performing well. It's validation of the many hours of work and effort that goes into designing a product and making it available to consumers.
