Ford Racing M6675A460 Oil Pan Kit, Includes Rear Sump, 6 Quart

Gasket does not work on my D9TE 460 block
Everything except the gasket was great. With this being a ford kit I wouldve thought the gasket would be fine. However the 4 corner bolts that are the larger 5/16 diameter do not fit through this gasket. All holes through gaskets were made for 1/4 inch bolt sizes. If you get this kit expect to either have to drill the holes in the gasket bigger (if you can without spinning the metal inserts out) or removing the inserts all together. I ended up using a felpro 3 piece style gasket because believe it or not it was actually easier

Designed for late model engine, fits early blocks with small mod.
Best oil pan gasket going, perfect for leak free operation. If you plan to install on an early engine (Pre-1996?) you will need to buy double ended threaded studs with 5/16-18 threads on one side and 1/4-20 threads on the other or do what I did and drill out the 5/16-18 threads at the oil pan corners by the crankshaft and replace with 1/4-20 thread inserts.

DO NOT USE BOLT SUPPLIED
DO NOT USE MAIN CAP BOLT IN KIT. Not a bad kit overall, just be sure you don't use the bolt they send. It is made from an extremely soft steel that will snap off if you try to torque it to specs. I started to install it and kept cranking on it but it wouldn't get tight. Luckily I stopped and backed it out before it snapped off. I ended up welding a stud on the original main cap bolt and that worked well. I didn't read the comments before I purchased and someone else has already had this issue. Other than that, the pan and gasket is good.

Horrible dipstick setup
Dipstick tube wouldn't clear header tubes, handle pulled off dipstick, end of tube came distorted, drain plug seal has constant drip. Etc etc etc. Expensive junk.

Absolute garbage of a kit
The bolt they send to replace the main cap bolt for the pickup tube to be supported by DO NOT USE! the main cap bolt calls for 95 to 105 lbs of torque and they don't send a good grade of bolt! I got to roughly 30 lbs and it broke off, had to extract the bolt, complete garbage of a kit, pan gasket doesn't even fit right because the ship it wadded in a ball!

Almost everything i needed.
Almost everything I needed to swap from a front sump to a rear sump. Came with a pan and gasket, dipstick and hardware, rear sump pickup and main cap stud bolt, but it didn't come with a nut to secure the pickup to the studbolt. May sound trivial but how hard is it to include a nut.

Well Made Swap Pan
Ordered this pan set for a 1984 Mercury Capri that I am installing a 1973 460 Ford into. As with all the Ford Motorsport products I have ordered the quality is top notch and fit perfectly. No issues at all. I am using a tubular K member so it clears fine. After seeing it installed I can see that the stock steel factory front crossmember would clear as well, BUT much more clearance with a tubular version that I have and better for header clearance.Order this swap pan with confidence. Great product that delivers as promised.

Ford quality
Very high quality, I was expecting it to be a lot less for the price, but’s it great. And it’s made in Canada!
