Argentine Bahia grass is very similar to St. Augustine in appearance with little to no seed sprout production like that of other bahia grass varieties. Argentine Bahia grass produces 10 to 12 feet of dense root structure allowing for low watering requirements. Combining low watering requirements with high insect and disease resistance, Argentine Bahiagrass is the most environmentally friendly lawn and pasture grass variety available for the warm season climates. Adaption Area: Argentine Bahia grass seed is commonly used for lawn and pasture applications across the southern United States including Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, North East Texas, and South West California. For more information on how well Argentine Bahiagrass grows in your exact location please call or contact us. Argentine Bahia grass seed is grown, harvested and processed by Hancock Farm & Seed Co., Inc. Argentine Bahiagrass Mix - Spring & Summer Mix (March 1 - October 14) 75% Coated Argentine Bahiagrass 25% Browntop Millet This S&S mix is shipped March 1 through October 14, unless otherwise requested. Our Spring & Summer Argentine grass seed mixture contains 75% Coated Argentine Bahiagrass and 25% Browntop Millet. The Browntop Millet is added to assist in fast ground coverage, retaining soil moisture and preventing soil and seed erosion. The Browntop Millet will also quickly establish an effective germination environment for the permanent Argentine Bahiagrass. The Browntop Millet will germinate in 5 to 7 days with adequate soil moisture and grow for approximately 65 days. During the Browntop millet’s 65 day growing cycle the permanent Argentine Bahiagrass will establish beneath the protective Browntop Millet’s coverage. It is very important to keep the newly seeded areas watered and mowed to prevent the Browntop Millet from overcrowding or shading out the young Argentine Bahiagrass seedlings.

Great Seed! Germinated In 4 Days
I am very happy with this seed. After being quoted several thousand dollars to sod our yard, I decided to go with a $200 bag of argentine bahia seed from Hancock Seed. I liked that I was buying direct from the farm and not from a corporation. Also, all of the other seed from the big corporate companies on Amazon had terrible reviews.I even called their local office because I had some questions and they happily answered all of them.I planted the seed and it germinated within 4 days. The first picture above is after 6 days and the second one is after 45 days, which looks the same as if it was sodded. Don't be fooled by the change in colors. Part of the area was shaded and part was sunny so the grass in the sun looks lighter. It is all bright green.I highly recommend this company's products.

Good mix, worked very well
I worked as a Director of Public works. I seeded huge areas and was very disappointed. I am now retired and on a fixed income and sodding my entire yard at my new house was out of the question. I order 100 pounds of this product, prepared the yard area with Scott's seed starter fertilizer and then spread the Hancock Argentine Bahia mix. The brown top mullet came in within the first 5 days. The Bahia came in 4 weeks later. I was shocked at how well this seed worked. Since I did not have a sprinkler system, I wait to plant at the beginning of our rainy season in Florida. God did me right and it rained everyday for 3 weeks then let up just a little. I highly recommend this product. My neighbor who had his yard sodded 4 years ago was so impressed that he asked me where he could buy the seed so that he could over seed his yard. Hancock will be getting his business and I intend to buy some more to over seed my yard to drive out the rest of the weeds and other grass that was all ready in the yard (1 acre).

Grows great in Florida weather without irrigation system.
Great product and works great in Florida weather and terrain. Browntop Millet Sprouts in about 3 days and allows the bahai comes in later. I spread a little too thin to begin with but it fills in well. I planted in sections with good intentions but even with my lack of discipline, it’s doing great. Will wait for cooler weather and spring to finish because of the scorching sun and down pours that was my seed to one place.

excellent results here in Central Florida
Excellent seed which worked very well when planted in the rainy season here in Central florida. I would recommend placing hay on seeds after you put them down to keep seeds in place and to deter birds.

Disappointed
A little disappointed. I realized it would take several weeks for the seed to germinate but did not realize it would take nearly a month. It also appears only about half the seed germinated. I hope the remaining seed does better than the first seed I put down. Depending on how the remaining seed does I don’t think i will buy any more.

This stuff works.
First picture Hancock seed after 3 days.Second picture Scott’s turf builder planted same day. Wanted to see the difference. Now a week later. Hancock seed growing well. Nothing happening with the Scott’s. It’s still nothing but dirt.

Great grass seed!
This seed is great. Only took a few days for the millet to show and then the grass shortly after. Well worth the money!
