This is a very nice salt/pepper grinder with very tight fitting stainless steel lids to keep the moisture out. The grinder is fast and productive. It does seem that the adjustments aren't demarcated with a very notable click or stop, but it doesn't seem that the grind has changed from what I set it to, so it does seem to work fine. I have found that this grinder works best if you want a fine, ultrafine, or a medium size grind. I have unscrewed the mechanism to try to get a coarser grind and it seems not to really want to grind very coarse. But it does grind consistently and that matters more, consistent grind size. And the overall hand feel of it is one of build quality and durability. I will echo the comment of others here that the caps are really hard to get off but that is by design to seal out moisture and as others have mentioned you could sand down the plastic lining of the steel caps in a place or two to mitigate that tightness if you want. I haven't yet because of sloth and the because I think a good seal there serves a purpose. The steel is very high quality/hardness. I have used Chrome plated steel things to sort of push the caps off (yes, they're that tight, when the item is new at least) and the steel on the caps has not visibly scratched from this at all.

I got this for my husband who recently got into cooking, but he rarely uses it anymore because his hands will slip making it hard to turn the knobs when cooking. Great idea, but I think the design flaw kind of takes away from the greatness it could be.

I came back to dismiss my first review, because less than one year that I've purchased this grinder it just is falling apart, the metal part is separating from the body, it happened by itself because it was never close to some sort of heat or fell on the floor, etc. Now I cannot use one of the sides because it is really dangerous, can cut my hand on it. So I do not like it anymore and do not recommend it to anyone. Check out the pictures and see.

This is a very nice grinder. Love the ability to adjust how fine or coarse I want the salt and pepper to be. I have bought others that claimed to do the same thing but failed at it. This is the only grinder you will ever need.

I keep this with other spices on the top of my apartment size electric range. It fits with all the spices I use frequently. It grinds very well and looks good in the kitchen. I like the press-in caps on both the salt and pepper sides.

Mine didn't work and one was broken. I received a quick refund. I didn't reorder to see if mine was just defective.

Was not very satisfied if this item not smooth at all and also no instruction where included was not what I expected.
