Ao Dai pants are typically white; The robe can be plain white, a solid or patterned color, or the traditional red and gold for a wedding garment.

Ao Dai by Patterns of Time-Genuine
This pattern of the Vietnamese dress and pants arrived quickly and in mint condition. The instructions are well written in English with options. The pattern is easy to trace to your size without spoiling the other sizes, so you can use it again for larger or smaller women. I was hesitant to buy from an unknown (to me) pattern company, but glad I did and will do so again. For now, I will work on a muslim mock-up and think about when I saw this dress in Vietnam, 47 years ago.

Beautiful Vietnamese gown.....
The pattern was small for me. My seamstress was able to add inches on each side. The pattern was easy to read. I chose a fabric that had to be stitched over and again so it was not raveling.

Miserable out come. It doesn't look like what is shown on the picture. It is ok for a party costum but you wouldn't want to wear it to any other occasion.

Vietnamese Ao Dai Pattern
