The bristles are probably best suited to outdoors as they are a little stiff ...
Got this for our granddaughter who is only a toddler but already enthralled with curling - this is her broom to "hurry hard" and she gets it out every time she sees curling on TV. The bristles are probably best suited to outdoors as they are a little stiff but this is a cute and sturdy little broom.

Worst Purchase I Ever Made!!!!
This purchase gives Melissa and Doug a bad name and I'm a huge fan of their products. I wish I took a picture of the broom before returning it. I truthfully think I could have gotten a nicer toy broom at a second hand store. The broom arrived with paint chipped all over the turtle and looked extremely dingy. The stick part of the broom has a thin plastic wrapping that will twist around and had black scratches on it. I has about to just keep the toy because it is a broom and it will get messed up but paying $12.99 for a toy broom is already silly so I returned the toy and will be looking to purchase another one with another company. This is my first and only purchase I have ever been disappointed with on amazon prime.

The pole is covered in thin plastic.
I haven't had any issues with the handle breaking like some have and my daughter has been pretty rough with it. The only weird thing is that I didn't expect the pole to be covered in a thing deocorative plastic which does shift. I'm just hoping that the plastic doesn't tear and start peeling or something. If I had known that (and maybe it was in another review somewhere and I missed it) I probably wouldn't have bought it. It's not worth sending back though, especially since my daughter loves it.

Plastic?? Come on Melissa and Doug!
I have come to expect wood products from Melissa and Doug. It says it's made from 'quality materials'. I guess I should have known that meant it wasn't wood (or it would have said so!). I'm disappointed in the construction and the bristles are definitely stiff, as others have said, but I must say my son doesn't care. He enjoys pushing it around. I can see how on a rough surface (like concrete) it might be difficult for a kid to push, but our floors are smooth in our house, so it hasn't been an issue for our 20 month old.3 stars: it's not the worst thing ever, but I have come to expect 'quality materials' from M&D.I can't decide if I'll be sending it back or not...

Cute but not really functional
This thing is neat looking for a toddler and sized ok, but the bristles are so stiff it just skips along the ground when my daughter tries to sweep the driveway with me. If it actually worked, she'd probably use it more. I wound up just cutting down the handle on a real push broom for her to use and she picks it every time.

Disappointed
I was disappointed in this little broom, it is awkward to use and a little heavy for the little ones. It's cute, but the broom's bristles are thick and too close together, that probably doesn't make any sense and I apologize for that. I just expected it to handle like a regular broom..... I love the Melissa & Doug products, but this one is disappointing to me.

Did not work out as hoped..
Grandkids didn't go wild for it...kept turning it over the wrong way to use. My two-year old grandson kept using a regular brush like a push broom and thought he would really go for this one. But, he just turned it over and scraped the floor with the plastic part....

not very functional
I know this is a toy but I wish the bristles were made out of something different so it was easier to push and would actually sweep. My 20 month old plays with it some but he prefers a real broom. He loves helping around the house so that's why we purchased it in the first place but he's not too excited about it since it's hard to push.

Nice Little Broom!
I got this for my daughter, but I've found that I am using it more than she is! It is so much easier for sweeping up do hair from our wood floors than a full sized broom!

Okay - would not purchase again
I was looking for a child's broom that would actually work (I wanted something that wasn't cheaply made). The broom is cute, but the kids can't really use it to truly clean any thing. It is kind of hard to push and really doesn't sweep crumbs into piles (more just pushes over the top). I would not purchase again nor recommend to any one.

Our Little Helper loves it!
Our not quite two-years-old son loves to help with housework. This broom is just the right size (he's big for his age) for him, and he pushes it around while Mommy or I sweep. It's sturdy, colorful, and really sweeps--not as well as our grown-up brooms, but we wouldn't expect perfection from a toddler's housework anyway! ;)

Cute but Poor Quality
The broom is cute, in theory, and a good size. However, when it arrived, it was already scuffed and dented. While I tend to love Melissa & Doug, this broom is of poor quality. The handle is covered with a thin piece of plastic that moves up and down while trying to use it and, obviously, the turtle part of the broom dents too easily. Needless to say, I am returning this toy.

Perfect for our young grandchildren
Our grandchildren love this little broom while they "help" with cleaning up the floors. It seems to be of good quality like all Melissa & Doug toys are so I am looking forward to having our little munchkins help me keep the floors clean for the next several years. :)

Cute, but a 15 month old could not push ...
Cute, but a 15 month old could not push it, so pulled it. I thought it would be easier than a small regular broom, not so.
