Couldn't be happier with this product
Couldn't be happier with this product! Balanced exactly the way I like them (more towards the hand versus the stick's shoulder. Plus switching to maple from hickory proved to be a major benefit on the money level.I was shredding hickory sticks (85s) left and right. After using them for a week, they would be more like a rubber pencil. And the worst part: once I started using a new pair, I'd have to spend a week getting adjusted to the "full" stick again. But not the maple! They do get beat up (mainly the bead, not so much the shoulder), but only minimally in comparison and thus last much longer than the hickory sticks. And then when I start using a new pair, there's no adjustment period.Yes, when they fail, it's usually a complete break, but that hasn't happened all that often so far (maybe 6 times over the span of 2 years).Vic Firth is the ONLY product I will ever endorse if given the chance.

Great sound control
I play in a church and do not like the Hot Rods we have been using. A friend of mine told me about these and Gave it a shot. LOVE THEM! I actually can bounce this sticks the way I want and play light enough that people don't complain. If we play outdoors I can use these as well because they can not hard. Beautiful sounds of the cymbals. Only draw back is I wish the sticks were a little longer.

Possibly The Most Well Rounded Sticks
Hi,I absolutely swear by these well balanced, lengthy, tried and true drumsticks. The nearly square head has such responsive action on both rides and hi-hats. And results in a nice bounce back into the hand that makes it easy to get the hang of and improve your chops.I've only had one pair break in over 10 years and I play hard and play live on a regular basis.I realize a drummers' sticks are used regularly and even honorably -- but if you're between sticks or want to try something new... These are the well rounded, and top notch sticks to give a try. It's the best change I've made in my playing. Hope this was helpful -- take care and play well!

Vic Firth Sticks Are Great
I am of the belief that Vic Firth makes the best drumsticks on the planet. These are no exception. They are durable, last long and have a great sound. I have very very few complaints about Vic Firth products.

Great jazz sticks!
I bought two pairs of these not too long ago. Theyβre a great pair that isnβt too thin or too thick. Great range of dynamic possibility. Really comfortable to use and are great for jazz.

Great sticks, just not for what I need
I really like the weight/diameter but just too light for my playing. The sticks broke way too easily. I play in an enclosed drum booth and as a result, sometimes have to play heavier. Just not the right stick for my needs. Went back to using 5A's. I would definitely recommend these for more lighter playing though.

The Sweetest Touch!
The sweetest touch on cymbals. These are American Rock Maple sticks so they're lighter in weight and sound than hickory. The have a slightly waxed lacquer grip to them that I really love. The barrel tips are rugged enough that they don't chip easily but they do wear down quicker than hickory tips. Fussy players like myself do have to replace them more often than their hickory counterparts. Their sound is warm, yet very precise and articulate The shoulder of the stick responds softly when crashing cymbals loosely and carries less vibration back to the grip than oak or hickory. I am definitely a convert! They'll be travelling with me from now on. Dafnis Prieto's preference too I believe.

There sticks to bang with.
Seems to work. You hit things and it goes thud! Gave up the drums so just use these to scratch an itch now.

Very good, recommended.
These are my favourite drum sticks for playing all styles of music, from funk to death metal. Light for getting around the kit and give access to lots of volume levels.
