- Lampentregras Hameln, Pennisetum alopecuroides, is one of the most popular ornamental grasses. Planted in groups, the grass comes into its own but also as a container plant a piece of jewelery. Pennisetum alopecuroides is better known as Chinese fountain grass, or lampreys grass.
