This completes transformation of austenite, which increases both the hardness and toughness of the steel. Ive got big hands, xl size. These chisels fit my hands perfectly. I believe would also fit smaller and larger hands too. The metal feels nice and smooth. The smaller sized ones are very sharp out of the box. 19mm and 25mm not quite as sharp but serviceable. I usually sharpen chisels when i recieve them anyway so no issues. The handles are made from ash however, and its a bit soft for not having a collar at the top.
