NAD - DAC 1 Wireless USB DAC

The NAD DAC 1 is a great and simple way to play your computer/digital files through any stereo system with RCA imputs. Easiest hook up ever. Just one plug into computer usb and plug receiving unit into your stereo RCA input and done. It really takes every bit of 60seconds to hook it up and it plays great with cd like quality. Can't believe I waited all this time buy one!! You won't be dissapointed!

love NAD stuff. simple, clean, functional - this is plug in and go - really. on my Mac had to set audio output to USB. it instantly connected to receiver in other room, in fact the instructions are pictorial on the box - that easy.it is 5 stars for all aspects - except when you evaluate the sound quality through a discerning system, it is quite bright, and a bit harsh in mid ranges (and my system would be considered "warm"). my goal was to send signal to my system wirelessly from old Mac with music library to have my music on tap, it did that perfectly. sound quality is on par with most of what you would hear, but it isn't an "audiophile" piece of equipment.update - went in and adjusted with the equalizer in iTunes, to cut back harsh frequencies - really made a difference

Worked only intermittently despite being only ~ 20 feet from transmitter. Even when it was working, the music was interrupted by frequent dropouts and pops. When it worked, the music sounded good, but not great. Overall impression was just aggravation. This was surprising, because my previous experience with NAD products had been good.

Since the NAD DAC 1 Wireless USB Digital-to-Analog Converter is the only one I can find on the market, one gives NAD E for Effort. And the device delivers, but no so much in today's urban environment. The first thing the NAD tech said was to move the transmitter several feet away from the antenna in the laptop, as they have found that proximity to that laptop's antenna causes interference. Yet NAD furnishes a 7" USB cable! And then the tech ruefully admitted that in the urban environment, with 2.4 cordless phones and microwaves and any number of other devices spewing noise in any neighborhood of multi-storied apartments and nearby moving cars,there is a lot of noise out there that can interfere with clear signals from the transmitter that are captured by the receiver.Some days I get wonderful sound and the next day, unbearable sound.But, you may be lucky.

working great so far

I have used this NAD Wireless USB DAC 1 almost daily since May 2012 - over a year and a half. The sound transmission is excellent with no interference in a busy urban environment - I live in a bank of townhouses with apartment complexes on either side. This unit has totally converted me from my CD player to a computer based system using lossless music files. The sound reproduction is crystal clear with excellent detail on my Martin Logan electrostatic speakers. The mid-range price of this unit makes it a superb value - a 5-star bang:buck ratio.

La simplicité même. je branche l'émetteur sur mon pc (Windows 8), reconnu instantanément sans autre manipulation. Le récepteur est branché sur une entrée ligne de mon ampli Yamaha, et c'est parti pour une écoute des fichiers spotify ou stockés sur mon DD en qualité CD. Excellent vraiment !

Pas de notice d'installation mais aucun soucis, on branche en usb (sous window7 les pilotes sont installés automatiquement)de l'autre coté branchement du boitier sur le secteur puis connection des fiches RCA (incluses)sur l'ampli. Ensuite rechercher dans panneau de config: "son". Sélectionner -haut parleurs USB Headset- comme périphérique par défaut puis lancer un player (Itunes par ex) et la magie opère: un son de qualité innonde la pièce. Un Petit mot aux concepteurs pour rajouter une télécommande qui pilotera le player et affichera les titres. Merci

Super produit, très facile d'accès : se branche en USB et reconnu directement sans installation de driver.Qualité de son au Top. La distance de transmission est très bonne + de 15 mètres sans aucun problème.Et le service AMAZON.FR toujours impeccable.
