My bulbs are only slightly out of reach from an upstairs landing. Can I turn the gear in this mechanism with my fingers to be able to replace bulbs?

Does this attach to any pole for example a pole for certain ceiling painting or broom pole that you screw into?

i have shades on top of the light bulbs. Will this product allow me to remove the small shades to get to get to the bulbs?

Is the attachment fixed at 180 degrees, or is it adjustable? I have a stairwell light that uses candelabra bulbs, which are more horizontal.
