I have a lot of hardware synthesizers and controllers connected at the same time, with multiple devices communicating over USB MIDI, and I also use USB audio from some of the synths. That means the hub isn't just sitting there with a keyboard, mouse and a couple of memory sticks plugged into it — it is being used continuously with a substantial amount of music hardware. The whole setup is running through Ableton Live on a first-generation M1 Mac mini with just 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. So this isn't some hugely overpowered studio computer masking any weaknesses either. Despite that, I've had multiple synths running simultaneously, including devices passing audio over USB, and the system has remained extremely stable. I've had no problems with dropouts, random disconnects or devices disappearing. Everything simply stays connected and works. The individual port switches are also genuinely useful in a studio because I can leave everything physically connected and switch individual pieces of equipment on or off as required rather than constantly plugging and unplugging USB cables.
