A Helping Hand: A Story to Help Children Learn About School Counselors Paperback – March 1, 2013

I felt this book had many good ideas on introducing yourself as an elementary school counselor. I have 2 other books on the same topic, and this one is by far the best! Great reproducibles, too!

Students didn't respond to it much. The back and white format was not very engaging. I was hoping for a more interest maintaining book.

I am a school counselor in an elementary school and was looking for a book to read to Kindergarten through 2nd grade to let them know what I do. I ordered this book and was surprised to see that it has no color pages, but is more like a coloring book. It does not hold the children's interest beyond about half of the book. I have colored some of the pages myself just to make it more interesting but I am pretty underwhelmed. The information is good about what we as school counselors do, but the presentation isn't effective.
