This beats the heck out of the folding camp saw I used to depend on for all my cutting needs that were too big for pruners in the garden and for cutting down fallen trees for the campfire on canoe/kayak trips. It's super light and even smaller in its little pouch than I expected from looking at the picture, yet it's sturdy and gets the job done with ease. I actually prefer the motion of sawing with the two handles to using a traditional saw which usually requires something to prop the wood up on. This can be used in more tight and awkward situations since you just need to be able to get one of the handles around the branch/trunk and then you can pull in any direction that's convenient. Where the folding camp saw was over a foot long and awkward to carry without a pack, this literally fits easily in a pocket so I can go scrounging for wood with my hands and back free. Since every ounce counts when you're portaging, this will be my new saw of choice for paddling trips.

I haven't tried it yet, but seems like it would be durable.

I have been using a traditional folding saw for camping for as long as I can remember, so initially I was skeptical about switching over to the pocket chainsaw. I could not be happier I switched.Compared to other saws I had been using in the past, the pocket chainsaw is much lighter, more portable, and even more effective. I have been able to cut down trees and branches within only a couple seconds!I received the saw 2 days after my order was placed, and I started using it shortly after. It arrived well packed with some great, free bonuses as well.I am very impressed with this product and will likely buy two more pocket saws soon, one for my bug out bag and the other for my car.

Heavier than expected. Okay for camping. If you are looking for something to carry in a pack, recommend something lighter.

This saw is actually very useful. I had my doubts when I ordered it, but my first cut made me a believer. I sawed through a 3" orange tree branch in about two minutes, with minimal effort. Actually the more pressure you place on it makes it cut deeper, which can also make it physically harder to move the blade, but once the cut is started it works very smoothly. I keep it in my hiking/camping rig, and the size to weight ratio is perfect for carrying., It tucks away nicely into a small package, and can even be carried in a pocket if need be.

I was very impressed when I received this Tactix Outdoors Pocket Chainsaw. Their quality is better than the one I bought from another Amazon supplier that broke. I have used this for a few weeks and it is really sturdy and does a great job. Seems to cut through logs quicker. Quality is excellent. Nice case too that I keep on my belt. I would definitely buy other products from this supplier again.

Most gadgets like this that I have used in the past often have little flaws like handles that tear or poor edges on the blades. However, I have been on three camping trips in the Rockies with this chainsaw and it hasn't given me any reason to not like it. The cuts are clean, handles easy to grip, and ultimately it's just fun to use. Must-have for any outdoorsman.

The saw worked like a charm, and believe me, I was skeptical. It was kindof like cutting through butter, but cold butter so it wasn't TOO easy. I cut down a big clunker of a tree, mostly just to say I could do with something that could fit in my pocket. But here I am, sayin' that I could do it. Kudos, pocket chainsaw guys, Kudos indeed.
