I purchased this scarf just prior to our trip to Brazil for the Olympics. It is a perfect traveling scarf because it is lightweight where you can stuff it in a backpack and not take up much room. It is also very soft so I would roll it up and wrap it around my head as a makeshift eye sleep mask for long plane and bus rides. And it was very easy to wash and dry overnight. The only negative is that it isn't really in the configuration of the US flag which was nice as I did drop it on the ground (which my son said is a no no if it was the actual flag). Scarf is beautiful. However, most of the seam is not sewn or appears to have been pulled away. Giant gaps. I quickly re-stitched it with navy blue thread. I needed this particular gift and repairing was easier than sending it back and maybe not getting the item back in time.

This scarf is really cute! It's a fairly thin fabric, not like T-shirt material. I got the "maroon" because I wanted it to brighten up neutral outfits and it was the only non-neutral. It is more of a dark purple/eggplant color which I prefer, but if you want it to match something maroon, you'll likely be disappointed.
