Hunting Ghosts: A Paranormal Investigator's Guide Paperback – March 18, 2014

I have a family member that believes that they have ghosts or spirits in their home, and they belong to a group that are "ghost hunters", or "paranormal investigators", I'm not exactly sure which. While I'm on the fence on the believe-or-not debate, I decided to check this book out, and familiarize myself with the topic.This book is less real-world experience and stories, and more a preparation guide for anyone wanting to set up a paranormal investigation. But it is a very interesting guide for that, if that's what you are looking for (I was looking for a little of both, but I enjoyed it). It is a pretty good beginners guide to hunting, from what equipment you will need, to where and how to hunt spirits, and how to protect yourself, should you find something. It is a very interesting look into this world.This book actually brings up a point that I consider a lot: You can't prove a negative. Recently, someone brought up the Matrix movies, and I told them that the best part about those movies is that the whole premise of that movie, you CAN NOT prove it's not real. Same thing with aliens, Bigfoot, Loch Ness, and ghosts (not to put all of those in the same category necessarily, but you know what I mean). This book delves into those areas somewhat, and I enjoyed those parts, as well.I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and would encourage any amateur ghost hunters to check it out. And here's hoping the next book delves more into the personal experiences of the author!

I was hoping for more personal stories rather than information. The information the author provided was helpful though. The story he told at the beginning grabbed my attention but could not keep it throughout the book. Please write something with personal experiences. You are a wonderful writer too! Ps I'm from the ozarks too!

Designed to be for the beginner, there is plenty of information inside. I would consider this beginner to slightly knowledgeable in level.A lot of good advice, even goes into detail about investigating without all of the modern doodads. Focus is on being professional, and from as close a scientific methodology as possible.

This is a great book for the beginner . Highly recommend it for those who are new to the field and even those seasoned vets

the author provides a structured approach to setting up a paranormal investigation. the chapter addressing equipment is particularly notable. I enjoyed this work.

Straight forward information that is geared towards beginning hunters. Includes protecting yourself as well as how and where to hunt.

Not a fun read at all. Mostly for educational purposes if u like to catch ghosts.

Everything you need to know about hunting ghosts and the paranormal in general. It covers everything from carrying out investigations to what kind of equipment you need and so on. A very informative guide for a beginner like myself wanting to increase their knowledge of the supernatural. I have always had an interest in the paranormal and its only recently that I decided to take it farther. This book has been a great guide in helping me understand what investigating the supernatural is about and the do's and don'ts of being an investigator. I already own a ghost hunters kit with all the gadgets I need, so the only thing to do is just get out there and see what happens.

I am amazed this has so few reviews. Well written, informative and for once a book on the paranormal which I actually find myself agreeing with wholeheartedly 100%. As a skeptical believer that has been interested in and investigating for over 30 years, I wish I had this information when I began.

This was an informative and interesting read. I read it all in two days and i enjoyed the book.

Another good well maintained book considering it's meant to be second hand but looks brand new.highly recommend to all Ghost hunters and novices.
