I never liked the idea of bringing a pillow backpacking
I never liked the idea of bringing a pillow backpacking, I always thought it was unnecessary weight and money, but I've changed my mind once I saw how cheep, small and light this pillow was. It's very convenient to pack, and although I have only used it twice, it has not sprung any leaks despite the thin fabric. Take note that the "Orange" color is not actually orange, it's a red. Although the pillow is relatively comfortable, it is too tall for me. I like a firm single pillow, but when fully inflated this is similar to two pillows on top of one another, which can actually give me some neck pain. And if I under inflate it to compensate, the sides of the pillow bulge up around my face. All things aside, it was a worthwhile purchase.

Very well designed ultralight packable pillow
This pillow is super lightweight and packs very small, about the size of a deck of cards, and it is designed very well with two indentions near the center that keep your head from rolling back and forth. At 3/4 inflation it gives me good neck and head support and as a side sleeper it doesnt put pressure against my ear like a round balloon shape would. I think its great for lightweight backpacking and the only improvement id suggest is a soft removeable cover for added comfort. Even as is its pretty soft and barely crinkles when i move my head. Overall its a great combo of good design and low price.

Awesome and no complaints at all.
This review is based on my purchased item. I did not receive a discount or review sample.Great addition to my backpacking setup. Key is not over-inflating it. It needs to be soft enough to cradle the base of your neck and head. I have a bad back and for me to find it THIS comfortable is really saying something. You will DEFINITELY want to use it at home first for a few nights and familiarize yourself with the design PRIOR to actually taking it out for the first time... Just like any outdoor gear. Couple deep breaths is all it takes to fill it sufficiently. The two internal baffles create a nice contoured shape. I just tucked it into the hood area of my sleeping bag and it was fine. I am a VERY light sleeper. The clothing stuff-sack method never worked for me, likewise the Ozark Trail polyester camp pillow I had been using prior to this was just too flat from years of use.I did place it in an extra T-shirt to give it a more cozy feel. I will probably invest in a small pillow case though.I just got back from a 3- day camp out. Temps got into the upper 40-F and we got TOTALLY drenched (7 inches in 3 days!!). We were camping in wet soggy-saturated earth under the oak tree canopy and surrounded by mud everywhere. I found out my tent floor just can't handle that kind of water saturation, and I had water seeping and percolating up through my tent floor all night. Luckily I had just enough dry real-estate in my tent to keep my sleeping bag dry. The InstantCamp pillow was TOTALLY warm, soft and comfy all night... as I lay there awake paranoid I am going to wake up shivering in a tub of water.-UPDATE-10/27/16... Crazy as this may sound, I have since been preferring to use this pillow at home instead of my memory foam pillow. Its just more comfortable... to my surprise. I use a cotton pillow case and it gently cradles the back of my head and neck. I am mostly a side sleeper and for that too I find better than my memory foam pillow. The key is not to over-inflate it. If anything Its better to have it a little softer than what you think you need.

A Force Multiplier for Comfort
I am a backcountry analog photographer typically packing in 10+ lbs of medium format, and at times large format, gear on multiday to week long excursions. A key to making all of this possible has been my transition to all things ultra light. Every single piece of gear above and beyond my camera gear is individually researched, selected and tested before it becomes part of my standard set. Weight matters. Form factor matters. I'd long suffered with my head on a wet, hard, pack or random "stuff" stuffed in a stuff sack, waking each morning with stiffness or pain. There was no way I could accommodate a fluffy "camp" pillow and I'd tried a couple compressible pillows all of which ended up providing the support you'd get out of a wet sock. I stumbled upon this ultralight pillow from InstantCamp and immediately knew I needed to give it a try.My findings after a number of overnight and multi night trips:Form Factor: It packs down incredibly small. In fact, so small I worried about keeping track of it. My solution was to just put it into the same stuff sack I use for my quilt. No issues. This pillow is unbeatable in terms of form factor.Weight: It weighs nothing! Again, 5 stars in the weight category.Durability: Exceptionally well made. The material is surprisingly robust and the valve/stem is equal to my Thermarest Neo. Top marks here!Operation: Inflates with a few puffs and deflates equally rapidly.Use: Inflate to near max. When you lay down with your head on pillow, you simply reach up, twist the valve and begin to let a bit of air out until it reaches a point of perfect comfort for you. In other words, you dial in stiffness and thickness! Works like a charm. This pillow is now a part of my permanent gear set up filling a critical void and increasing my ability to be comfortable in uncomfortable places!
