How do i know if i need the standard or compact size? i can measure my binoculars but where, exactly, should i measure?

Description says 1.45" to 2.3", details say 1.45" to 1.8", but their website says 1.45-2.15. Compact is 1.1"-1.46". I'd go off website

They will fit a typical binocular. Not sure of the actual diameter it they are stretchy silica like rubber

You need to measure the outer diameter of the eyepiece the cup must stretch over and buy a cup that fits. In my case, with canon 10 x 40 image stabilized binoculars, I resorted to using appropriately sized hose clamps to secure the cup to the eyepiece. This worked great and saved me from buying a new pair of $1200 binoculars. Like all cups, these will eventually tear or call apart. I carry extra cups and hose clamps with me, in case that happens. I've had the same cups on for 18 months, and no problems thus far.

binoc's scratch the lens of eyeglasses and I use them a lot while hunting. Will these keep that from happening as well ?

Sort of These are more for stopping light from coming in the sides…. But they work well at keeping the occular lenses from extending out….. which is liekly why your are scratching your glasses?
