A light, easy read.tenta
This book would be great for reading at the beach or some time when you want to read a book without having to think about it much. It's easy to follow. The reason I only gave the book three stars is that it contains some medical errors, in spite of having been written by a physician. At one point, when little Angela had a high fever, the nurse says she gave the child an alcohol rub to try to reduce it. Alcohol rubs have been contraindicated for fever reduction for at least 25 years. The CDC states alcohol rubs actually cause a rebound increase in temperature. Additionally, at this point, Dr Allen orders aspirin for Angela. Aspirin should NEVER be given to a child, especially one with an undiagnosed illness, because of the danger of Reyes Syndrome. It's a potentially fatal illness that can infect children who have been given aspirin during the course of an illness. These errors are important and reduced the credibility of the book for me.

Really good all the way through
Good medical mystery. A bit of real life practice. Was hate to see it end, but ended it well, would read another one of his books.

Very interesting
The end is surprising, but is well conceived. Some of the characters are not well developed, but it doesn't detract from the book.
