Love the size of this box and perfect for wood pellets
Update 9/4/25: while I still love this litter box, my cats will no longer use any pellet litter. They prefer clay and ultimately, the litter should be what they prefer. /////////////////////////////////////////// The box size is fantastic. I love the concept and will be keeping this system long term. I decided to try the wood pellets with this box and purchased them from TSC. The combination of this box with reasonably priced wood pellets got me so excited to have found this new system. No dust clouds, not tracked through my house, wood pellets don’t make my cats sneeze, easier to clean up a few pellets rather than with clay is when it gets tracked out of the box everywhere. I like how the pee goes down to the pad below and I even use large puppy pads once the tidy cats breeze pee pads were used up. I love this concept so much that I purchased 4 Tidy Cats breeze boxes. If you can wait until Black Friday or cyber Monday, the price dropped in 2024 to $38.95, which is an amazing deal for this large box. We currently have two older kittens and they transitioned over to pellet style litter very quickly. Odor control is where things are iffy for cat poop. No matter if you use the pellets it comes with or pine pellets. My two cats will poop and until you stop what you are doing to clean it up, the entire house will start to smell a little. The smell will waft through the air from the farthest side of our finished basement up to the main level where everyone can smell it. I am the sole person to clean everything up, so for me, it’s a reminder that one of the two cats has gone and the litter boxes need attention asap. For the rest of my family, they all start complaining about the poop smell and it is very noticeable. Once the poop has been placed in the litter genie, the smell dissipates quickly. Also, my kittens are older and as they become adults hopefully they will poop slightly less, making the smell issue not as bad. Speaking of litter genies, I especially love this system with the wood pellets and the litter genie. Since you are only scooping poop, the genie refills don’t get used up as quickly. The combination of pine pellets and having a litter genie make this litter box system so much easier and it is the best litter box system out there, in my opinion. I would highly recommend it and also to use this box with the wood pellets from TSC. The two together are amazing and have made things so much easier, especially when used with a litter genie.

Great Litter Box
The Purina Tidy Cats Breeze XL Litter System is a fantastic upgrade from the smaller version. It controls odor really well and stays much cleaner than traditional litter boxes. There’s no dust, minimal tracking, and it keeps my cat’s paws clean. The XL size is perfect for multi-cat households—tidy, low-maintenance, and truly hassle-free.

Best Decision Ever
I absolutely cannot stand any smell of a litter box so when certain circumstances forced me to move it from downstairs, my only placement option unfortunately was in between my back door & my kitchen. I know, gross was my first thought & let's just say I wasn't a happy camper! Instantly, that is all I could smell all the time no matter what I used or did, including scooping it out twice a day. I took a chance on this setup and it was the best decision EVER! I no longer smell it the second I open my door (unless one of them literally just left a nasty #2). Cleanup is easy. The litter itself doesn't have a smell, I don't get dusted out refilling it like all your regular litters & my girls aren't sneezing anymore! It seems to last longer, and doesn't track nearly as much as traditional litter. My fur babies looked at me with confusion at first but it didn't take them long to realize they liked being able to step in instead of jumping (which is nice for the older one). They weren't sure what to make of the new litter at first but they seem to like it...maybe too much for my younger one as she apparently feels the need to go in & "check things out"?? even when she doesn't have to do any "business" LOL. I got the XL & it's plenty big enough. My daughter set it up initially so I didn't realize she'd only used 1 bag (3.5 lbs) of the regular pellets it came with instead of the 2 bags as the site stated but it lasted the whole month just fine & didn't have any messes on the bottom or walls or any leakage out of the box so that's awesome! It came with the regular Ion pads & stated to change out weekly for 1 cat. I have 2 using it & was curious how long it would last before I smelled it...2 weeks! The pad was maxed out for absorbency so I change it out weekly, but I honestly didn't smell urine for 2 whole weeks. I rarely do reviews but I was too impressed with this system not to.

All 5 Cats
I have been using the Breeze XL System for one month. I share my home with five cats, so bear in mind that my review is for a multi-cat household. I have one Breeze XL System for all of my cats and it's working amazingly well. I will give you Pros and Cons. Pros: *All of my cats took to the Breeze litter system right away. They checked it out (sniffed, touched), then walk right in and used the box. They slipped around a bit on the pellets, but soon got used to that. *I purchased one XL System and will use it for two months. At that time I'll buy another system. The reason I'd buy a new system is because the plastic gest so scratched up, and I'm concerned that tends to hold bacteria. This is a big $$ savings because I won't have to buy 2 new regular litter boxes, a new scoop, a new mat, and several jugs of litter each month. *The Breeze System is so clean! At first, I used Breeze pads but I find that the pads made by Amazon work exactly as well and are much less expensive. Since I have 5 cats I do have to change the pads twice/day. * I am saving money and space because the only mat I need is a small one in front of the entryway into the box. And the only reason I have a mat at all is because a few pellets do get kicked out and the mat catches most of them. *Cleaning the box is easy. I keep disinfectant wipes on hand and when poop gets on the plastic I wipe it off. Once every 10 days I take the box apart, use the disinfectant wipes to wipe off the entire system except the actual litter (pellet) pan. I wash that in the bath tub with antibacterial dish soap and paper towels. Refill with pellets and the whole box is nice and clean! * I do not notice any smell from the box, with the exception of fresh poop, of course. I scoop out poop as soon as I see it. *The pads really are very absorbent. *The little scoop that hangs on the box is really convenient. *The system is so much easier on my back, it's much less time-consuming than regular boxes. *HUGE: there is NO dust! I'm not breathing dust when I scoop and neither are my cats when they use the box. So important! Cons: *For some reason the pee tends to go on only the left side of the pee pad. I wish the grill was centered, rather than set to the right of the pellet pan. *Any kind of poop except VERY solid does get on the pellets, and often smears a bit on the plastic. It definitely tends to get on the scoop that comes with the system. I have to keep disinfectant wipes handy to wipe the poop off a few times/day. It's impossible not to have to throw some pellets away when I scoop out the poop. *I know a lot of people claim that pine pellets work with Breeze. Well, I tried pine (horse bedding) pellets and they did not work at all. I cannot see how they'd work with a multi-cat household. The peed-on pine dust does fall through to the pad underneath, but it also falls through to the tray and makes a mess. There were pine shavings all over the inside of the system, and that stuff was difficult to wash off. And the pine pellets simply are not as effective as the Breeze pellets are. Also, the scent of pine is strong! I live in an apartment and the scent was so powerful it made me feel nauseous. Now I'm stuck with a huge bag of pine pellets that I have to dispose of. *The MAJOR CON with the Breeze System is that I have one cat who likes to play with stray pellets that end up on the floor. No big deal, BUT he tends to put pellets in his mouth and bite down on them. I can understand why a cat would do that because the pellets are the size of kibble. Whenever I see him playing with a pellet I immediately pick it up. That he might swallow a pellet is a scary thought. I don't think he will, but it does cause me some stress. That's about it from me! Overall, I am delighted with the Breeze System and will continue to use it. Buying Amazon pads and pellets costs something, yes- but really, I don't think I'm spending quite as much as I would be using traditional litter boxes. And the convenience of the Breeze System is exceptional.

Great system, but not for every cat.
This really is a great litter box system, and I think it would work especially well for cats that aren’t too picky. I have one cat that would only urinate in it and another that refused to use it at all. For the cat that did use it, it worked extremely well — it kept the odor down, was very easy to clean, and was so much better than scooping traditional litter in our other box. I would highly recommend this system for younger cats that can adjust to it early on.

Best box to date
TLDR: Buy I have a single cat LONG HAIRED that was found in a dumpster a few years back. She has no issues using any box or litter so this is based off of a very none picky spayed female cat named Bob. Bob LOVES water. She will stand in whatever water dish she has and soak her feet while she drinks. She also loves to wet her feet before she uses the litter box. I have always used clumping litter for all my previous cats for MY ease. However, this does not work for Bob, simply because once her paws are well saturated, she will happily climb into any litter box and come back out with cement blocks for paws. She is also long haired, her feet are extreme fuzz balls with bad hair days. This is a HUGE litter tracking disaster. 1 week ago I received and presented the Breeze system to my cat. She has always been a single litter box cat, so I just simply put it where her previous box was, and moved her old box to a less desirable area for her. The 3.5 lb bag does not look like a lot in this massive box. It only covers the grated area. I thought, there is no way she will like that but day 1, she jumped in and urinated immediately, pawed around the pellets with her absolutely soaked paws per usual and walked out of the box. I did not touch this box for 1 week. She did not defecate in the box yet, she is still using her old box for that. 7 Day observations 1 - No smell. None. While my cat absolutely loves water, this means that she urinates a great deal. Very very very large amounts of urine. 2 - No tracking. Her wet sticky paws did not once drag out a pellet. 3 - Upon removing the drawer for the pad, there was still no smell. I lifted the pad and it was heavy. Very much soaked. However, the backside of the pad remained completely dry. I replaced the pad and tossed the other one. 4 - When I changed the pad, I moved around the pellets on top to check the integrity of them. Only 3 pellets were wet and they were easily removed. 5 - I added half of another bag of the litter to give my cat a little more freedom to cover, incase that was way she was not defecating in the new box. Now she spends more time "burying" but still has not yet used the box for poo. With the addition of the more litter, she has kicked out 2 pellets and those were just simply picked up and placed back into the box. No dust. No smell. No cement paws. No discolored paws. No gritty litter on my feet. The litter itself is expensive but I don't have to worry now about literally anything else that makes having a litterbox a pain. IMPORTANT NOTES The pellets are large - some cats may not like it. Especially cats that have very sensitive paws. Mine simply does not care. The box is BIG. Measure. It will not easily fit tucked away in some hidey hole for the out of site out of mind feeling. Due to the size of the box and the smaller amount of pellets, when cats are burying, it is loud. The pellets on the plastic sound how you would imagine. Just something to be mindful of. Overall the pros very much outweigh the cons so far in the 7 days I have had this box.

Best Litterbox I've Ever Used
This is the best litterbox I've ever used. It's really big and roomy, which, in my opinion is essential for cats of any size to be able to move around comfortably. Ever since switching to larger litter boxes, it has completely eliminated accidents outside of the box. Initially I was using the XL high sided Scatter Shield litterbox, which I liked. However, I use paper pellet litter, and I was having to waste litter every week because the wet litter kind of disintegrates into "dust" and holds onto odor. Though I scoop the solids and as much wet litter as possible daily, I would still have to dump the whole thing every week because it's impossible to separate the dusty stuff from the pellets and scoop out, so I really wanted to try a litterbox with the the holes in the bottom for the dust and excess urine to fall through. The breeze system is perfect for that. I was hesitant to try this litterbox for a while because the sides of the litterbox rest on top of the base. I have a male cat who is a high pee-er, and I was worried that the urine would trickle down into the cracks between and leak. But when I finally decided to give it a try, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the edge of the sides that rests on the base has a groove, so the edge of the base sits between the groove, so it does not leak! I was also pleasantly surprised that the sides of the litterbox are not straight, but curve inward slightly, and so this seems to have eliminated my cat from peeing up over the side like he would sometimes do with our other high sided litterbox. So the Breeze system has eliminated all our problems, and I go through so much less litter. I still scoop solids and wet litter daily because I just like a clean litterbox, and feel it's more sanitary. I never have to dump my litter anymore, I just scoop what is dirty out, and the rest falls through the holes in the bottom. The remaining litter is clean and has no odor. I do not add more litter until its time to sanitize the box itself. To sanitize the box, I wait until the litter is low, move it all to one side, spray a paper towel and wipe down that side. Dry it, and move the litter to that side and clean the other side. Then I I add more litter to fill it. I'm never wasting ANY litter this way. I find this litterbox fairly easy to clean, too. There are some cons, but the pros by far out way them for me. The cons are 1. You do have the extra expense of buying the pee pads for the bottom. However, the Amazon ones are cheaper and good quality, and they the size fits pefectly. And I only have to change the pads once a week, so in the long run, the cost of pads is far far less than what litter was costing me every month. I bought the pack of 40 and only using 1 a week, I will not have to buy more of them for quite some time. (Make sure to buy the unscented pee pads as scent may deter them) 2. If you're using pellet litter, wet litter does sometimes gunk up in the bottom holes. Not a ton. And sometimes small pieces of broken litter get caught. This is easy to clean, I just take toothpick and punch everything through- simple, but can be time consuming so I stay on top of it every time I clean so that it doesn't get bad. 3. My senior cat had stones in his bladder causing UTIs, and his urine was smelling insanely strong of ammonia. I was having to change the pads every other day to keep the odor down until his UTI was treated and gone. So I obviously had to buy pee pads much more often at the time- still worth it. BUT, normally, as long as your cat has normal urine, there is no odor until a week when the pee pad is full. There may be the slightest smell of urine, of course, but only when you're taking it out. It does not make the room smell. Multiple cats will obviously mean changing much more frequently. 4. It is quite large so it does take up space. It's still worth it to me to have my cat be able to go comfortably and not have accidents. There are smaller versions, but they are not suitable for large cat breeds, and I personally still feel that it those are not enough space for average sized cats to comfortably move and eliminate.

Did not control urine smell
My cat switched easily from regular clumping litter in a regular litter box to the Breeze pellet system. I’m so happy that we no longer have litter tracking all over the house. It’s easy to scoop the poops from the pellets. BUT, I don’t know if my cat just urinates more than other cats, but the pee-pads need to be changed at least every 2 days, and they are really smelly by the second day but not completely soppy . The urine smell is really bad; so bad that the giant air purifier that is in the room where the box is goes into overdrive at day 2 of the pee-pad. I used this box for a month (just past its returnable date) so happy that we had no more tracked cat-box litter, that I continued to try everything possible to tone-down the awful urine-pad smell. Charcoal did not work (in pads, it litter, in the room) , also TidyCats special litter for smells, special pads, etc. I finally gave up and ordered a stainless steel cat-box that works with pellets. Right now I’m still using the Tidy Cats pellets, and the pads and plastic liner bags that came with the steel box. Just trying to see if pads last longer. It’s day 4, and we are not smelling urine. I think that one reason for this might be that the bottom part of the set of 2 stainless steel boxes is deep. The urine pads are not as open to the outside . Tidy Cats drawer where urine-soaked pads go is shallow and very open. Some users have also named plastic vs. steel as a possible issue. Changed the pad this morning . The pee-pad is quite full, but the liner bag is not wet. We still were not smelling the urine . If you have no isdues with urine smells, the Tudy Cats Breeze box is great !

Fantastic product for my big 20+lb boy who pretty much stands tall while peeing and needs a big deep litter box.

Love this product. I have gone through so many litter systems and love this one due to being large enough to fit my large cats.

Advice for Canadians and Frugal Peoples in General.
There are competing zeolite refill brands on Amazon to ship to Canada. IMMCUTE for example, but just look up "zeolite litter pellets" and hunt for the cheapest price per KG/LBS. Install Keepa browser extension to track Amazon price fluctuations. The zeolite pellets don't really "wear out." Despite what the packaging says, you really shouldn't change them out so often. You're wasting your money. The urine smell is from the pads below (and the design doesn't have a gasketed pad tray so, it'll always smell a little bit with the air gaps), so buy Amazon Basics version instead they're way cheaper and just as absorbent. Change them out more often. Sprinkle some baking soda and mix into the pellets in the litter box now and then. Now, some of the pellets eventually do get some tiny bits of dried feces stuck to them, so after a month I put them in a garbage can and rinse them a couple times with hot water with some bleach, then a final rinse with just water and leave them to dry out. Then back into the can to stir fresh baking soda into. That's all they're doing at the factory, zeolite is porous and it doesn't break down at all from what I've seen so far. Bought this back in January 2024. You also lose some pellets over time to the garbage can no matter what, they just get stuck to feces sometimes. I refill with new pellets twice a year so far. It's been perfectly fine. You can make this insanely cheap and good lord it's way way way more hygienic than clay.
